We’d love to hear from you!About the RoleOur users are software engineers and operators, from single developers building experimental video-based features, to the most seasoned streaming ops manager debugging an outage in the world's largest live event. We care deeply about their entire experience using Mux: signing up for our product, using our dashboard, learning from our documentation, and integrating Mux into their code and workflows. We're looking for a designer to help us build innovative products that enable our users to move fast and create successful apps with streaming video.What You’ll DoYou will be involved in all phases of development: product planning, needs discovery, prototyping, and shipping.Deeply understand the needs of developers building with streaming video to design the most impactful features and services.Drive a design-focused approach with product and engineering teams.Lead discovery discussions with customers focusing on feature discovery, trade-offs, and user research.Use tools and metrics to find opportunities for better user experiences that will lead to more successful customers.Be a contributing member of the product development team who helps increase our impact.Who You Are4+ years of product design experience6+ years total experience in product, design, or engineering-related work such as front-end development with React or other JavaScript frameworksYou’re comfortable driving a design process that is open and transparentYou have experience prototyping and testing your designs with customers, leading design feedback sessionsYou’ve shipped products, learned how customers use them, and iterated toward improvementYou enjoy working on diverse projects across the product teamsYou can excel even as the sole designer on a projectYou have experience defining roadmaps with product managers by balancing business strategy with a vision for the user experienceYou care about how your design decisions impact the technical implementationYou love working with data–whether that’s designing data visualizations in the UI using tools like D3 or using internal data to influence your decisionsNice to HaveA background in B2B, analytics, and/or developer-focused productsExperience maintaining a design system used across multiple products, preferably in Chromatic and StorybookIn our commitment to provide transparency with candidates, we openly share base pay ranges for all job postings within the United States, regardless of the state. These pay ranges are established using standardized criteria, including job function, level, and location. They're also benchmarked against similar companies in a similar stage of growth. The starting base pay for this position is between $165K and $185K. Actual pay is influenced by various factors such as location, skills, depth of experience, and internal equity.
