Director of Program Development and User Experience

oversees the design and delivery of cutting-edge Executive Education programs and works to position Georgetown Law as a leader in the executive and continuing education space.

They support the Executive Director in the growth of Georgetown Law's executive education programs by working closely with external stakeholders to determine their continuing education and professional development needs.

As well, they lead the instructional program design for curricular modules and custom programs, and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders throughout the customer and end user lifecycle; support the identification, development, and implementation of new systems, processes, and programs; and assess and evaluate client needs and programs post-delivery with a design-thinking lens.

Work Interactions

Reporting to the Executive Director for Lifelong Learning, the

Director of Program Development and User Experience

works closely with the Program Management team and the OECLE Business Operations professional. They maintain a strong understanding of instructional design, adult education, and content delivery - as well as their proven ability to work with a wide range of constituent groups, and their commitment to developing inclusive learning environments.

Externally, they communicate directly with clients and potential clients, including but not limited to law firm leadership, government agencies, and think tanks - and as assigned, they provide occasional presentations.

They find a balance between unit goals and user needs, both in person and virtually, employing their sense of diplomacy and user advocacy.

Requirements and QualificationsBachelor's degree in instructional design, educational technology or related field

and

5 to 7years of experience - preference for Master's degree and experience in a higher education settingExperience supporting faculty use of technology to further the instructional mission or first-hand use of a variety of instructional technologiesExpertise in Mac and PC operation, web development, online conferencing, multimedia, presentation tools, and emerging technologiesExperience in conducting both quantitative and qualitative user and program research and assessment, as well as aligning organizational strategy with delivery strategy - preference for experience with accessibilityPrepared to synthesize and present research findings, recommendations, and implementation plans to leadership for approval on a regular basisProven ability to execute an established strategy with P&L responsibilityExceptional interpersonal, organizational, communication and negotiation skillsAbility to work well with senior executives and faculty members, as well as a deep commitment to establishing strong relationships with all constituents of programsA balance of experience creating enthusiasm around a shared vision with innovative operational expertiseExcellent written and oral communication skills, including experience with web content strategy, copywriting, and editing are necessary - preference for WordPress experienceAbility to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks, to understand stakeholder needs, and to work under pressureA 'lean start-up' mindsetDedicated team player, flexible and creative, with the ability to work with a variety of personalities and constituencies to deliver excellent programs at scale.

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:$66,783.00 - $126,720.23

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
