Have you got what it takes to succeed The following information should be read carefully by all candidates.NVIDIA's accelerated computing platform has revolutionized HPC and AI, and we have built the cuQuantum SDK to enable researchers and framework developers in the area of Quantum Computing. In this role, you will be part of an engineering team designing, developing, and optimizing software to accelerate Quantum Computing frameworks. Ideal candidates will have experience building software systems and interest in advancing the state-of-the-art in applications of HPC and GPUs to the quantum computing ecosystem. If you are passionate about designing and developing high-performance software and want to help us build libraries to help accelerate research and development in this exciting field, we would love to hear from you!What you'll be doing:Researching and developing creative and innovative algorithms and software systems to help accelerate quantum circuit simulators.
Working closely with NVIDIA Research, Developer Technology, and Product Management teams in the areas of quantum computing, programming systems, and machine learning.
Interacting with external partners and researchers to understand their use cases and requirements.
Providing technical leadership and guidance to other engineers on your team.
Analyzing the performance of GPU and CPU implementations and finding opportunities for algorithmic or implementation-based improvements.
What we need to see:PhD or MSc degree in Computer Science, Applied Math, Physics, or related science or engineering field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of experience developing software used in quantum computing workflows (e.g., circuit simulators, compilers, hybrid-computing).
Experience with Quantum Circuit Simulator methods such as Tensor Networks or State Vector methods.
Excellent C++ and Python programming and software design skills, including functional and performance test design.
Parallel programming experience with GPUs (CUDA, OpenCL, or OpenACC), multi-threading, or MPI.
Experience leading and implementing software development projects.
Excellent collaboration, communication, and documentation skills.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:Experience using one or more quantum computing and deep learning frameworks (e.g., Qiskit, Cirq, Pennylane, TNQVM, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
Good understanding of Machine Learning and Deep Learning technologies.
Familiarity with Quantum Error Correction (QEC) algorithms and methods.
Experience working in an agile software development environment within a globally distributed organization.
