Creates a welcoming, playful and thoughtful service environment by managing assignments, training, coaching and developing an unparallel Sales team. Directing all sales and catering-related activities and marketing efforts for the property, as well as overseeing revenue management. Will work closely with the General Manager and Executive Chef to sell and market the food and beverage operation, both restaurants and rooftop lounge. Maximize and enhance room revenues to meet and exceed the hotel's revenue and GOP objectives. Manage and develop a team of Directors, Managers and Catering Sales. Build solid relationships with local companies, creating innovative means for attracting and retaining groups while maximizing profitability and generating revenue. Works closely with Department Heads to run a successful overall hotel operation and sets tone for professionalism and high end customer service throughout the hotel.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSKILLS:

Proven track record of success in hotel sales and revenue generation. Previous Director of Sales experience required.

Recognize the importance of literature, humor, music, science, theatre and culinary arts in making theWit more experience than hotel.3. Represent the hotel in a positive manner at all times.4. Understand and maintain Four Diamond Rating and hotel brand standards and requirements5. Direct all sales-related activities and marketing efforts for the property.6. Develop new and innovative ways to market theWit to shift share from the competition.7. Oversee Revenue Management strategies day to day.8. Work closely with PR company to run effective electronic and print advertising and marketing campaigns.9. Work closely with the Executive Chef and General Manager to sell and market the food and beverage operation, both restaurants and rooftop lounge.10. Maximize and enhance room revenues to meet and exceed the hotel's revenue and GOP objectives.11. Manage and develop a team of Directors, Managers and Catering Sales.12. Build solid relationships with local companies, creating innovative means for attracting and retaining groups while maximizing profitability and generating revenue.13. Coordinate and Develop the Marking Plan and Budget.14. Participate in weekly and monthly reporting of Sales and Marketing as required by the GM, upper management and ownership group.15. Coordinate and assist in the hiring of the overall Sales Team.16. Work closely with Department Heads to run a successful overall hotel operation and sets tone for professionalism and high end customer service throughout the hotel.17. Monitor STAR Reports, Hotelligence Reports and Sales Activity Reports to effectively shift market share from local competition.18. Ensure that sales team is following the Sales Standard Operating Procedures.19. Monitor sales team weekly reports and keep the GM informed of sales team activities.20. Create a synergy amongst the sales personnel to sell and promote all outlets of the hotel and to exceed top line revenue goals.21. Host client events at hotel to promote and establish the hotel in the market place.22. Meet and exceed budgeted room revenue and food and beverage revenue goals as outlined by the hotel's overall budget. Develop assigned market segments by following the Marketing Plan action items utilizing the following sales protocols. Individual weekly goals will be followed as outlined in the Sales Office Standards and Procedures.a. Face to Face Appointments and Outside Sales Callsb. Telemarketing/Prospectingc. Site Inspections and On-Site Entertainmentd. Constant Contact Email Blastse. Networking Functions related to Market Segmentf. Client Appreciation Partiesg. Local High Rise Infiltration and Exposure for the With. Trade Organization Participationi. Internal Communicationj. Servicing of Accounts as neededk. Follow-up on Leads and Referrals within 4 hours of receipt23. Meet and exceed Food and Beverage revenue goals through catering sales goals for meeting space and promoting other food and beverage outlets.24. Follow prescribed Action Calendar in Marketing Plan to ensure your assigned activities are completed in a timely manner.25. Assist in maintaining a team effort with fellow sales staff members as well as with other departments within the hotel.26. Actively sell and promote all amenities and outlets of the hotel, including meeting space, Spa, State and Lake Chicago Tavern and ROOF.27. Follow the meeting space selling guidelines to ensure maximum room revenue per occupied meeting room.28. Maintain and create account lists in Delphi through accurate account entry and proper trace systems to follow up in a timely manner.29. Maintain active and accurate group contracted filing system as outlined in Office Procedures.30. Respond promptly to all inquires, lead referrals, and existing clients; resulting in documentation of all communication preferably within 4 hours.31. Generate new business through personal contacts as described in the above list of activities.32. Communicate and report all activities on a timely basis by maintaining the following:a. Active and accurate accounts and trace system using sales softwareb. Monthly Review of individual sales progressc. Attendance and active participation at weekly sales meeting33. Maintain working knowledge of all other departments in the hotel in order to work in unison with all departments.34. Develop knowledge of the competition to better aid in the solicitation of accounts and network with industry peers to increase referral business.35. Follow-up with all clients before, during and after all meetings by up-keeping a current trace system and survey system through written, verbal and personal communication with clients.36. Meet with clients on property during meetings and conduct pre-con meetings as necessary.37. Keep abreast of all in-house functions and ensure that sales staff is communicating effectively with all departments to ensure a successful execution of their groups.38. Comply with hotel's Standard Code of Conduct and all other regulations established by management and Employee Handbook.39. Participate in Sales' Department Saturday coverage program as scheduled.40. Be completely knowledgeable of hotel's emergency procedures as instructed by hotel management.41. Actively represent the hotel in a positive manner at all times in the community.42. Continually monitor, update and maintain Group Room Control Log.43. Monitor your Department's and individual market segments revenue pace vs. actual on the Manager's Daily Report.44. Review guest list in house/arrivals report to be aware of potential company business to target within assigned market segments.45. Direct and daily sales stand up meeting and weekly sales & staff meetings.46. Lead theWit experience as instructed by the hotel leaders.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:1. Communicate in the primary language of the hotel.2. Show off the proper uniform/dress at all times and be well groomed.3. Be flexible since you are running a 24/7 hotel operation.
