About the Role & Team

As the Senior Manager of Communications for Disney Publishing, you will be responsible for crafting and supporting the communications strategy for Disney’s Publishing business across publishing licensing, The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) franchises, author programs, and imprints. Franchises include Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, ESPN, 20th Century Studios and National Geographic. Author programs and imprints include our full list of titles across fiction and non-fiction for adults and kids.This role will build communications and media relations plans for priority initiatives, lead all aspects of licensee communications, and publicity programs, and manage internal partners. As the Communications lead for Disney Publishing, you will regularly collaborate with and advise senior-level executives, represent Publishing in all integrated campaigns, and liaise with regional Communications teams. As part of the broader Disney Consumer Products communications team, you will work closely with all segment, business, and franchise communications leads. This role requires a strategic approach, a passion for collaboration, as well as excellent project management skills.This is a Project Hire/Internal Assignment with an anticipated project length of 12 months.Up to the challenge? In this role, you will:Oversee all communication activities for Disney Publishing including internal collaborators, external licensees, publishers, and authorsLead priority initiatives, including campaigns, press events, and launchesBe responsible for the strategy and execution of author tours, signings, and events such as conferences, book festivals, and trade showsManage the team budget as well as outside agency/freelance supportOversee internal processes and campaignsCollaborate with internal teams including marketing, legal, and various communications functionsRequired Qualifications & Skills

10+ years of experience in PR and communications (Publishing, Lifestyle, Consumer products, etc.)Executive presenceExcellent communication skills, inclusive of writing and presentingAbility to optimize messages for diverse audiencesThink strategically and implement communications with purposeBe organized, creative, flexible and a multi-taskerAbility to travel domesticallyEducation

Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or equivalent work experience, preferably with an emphasis in public relations.Additional Information

The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
