Organizational Summary:The 3Point Foundation seeks to close the opportunity and achievement gap caused by socioeconomic inequity for underserved, low-income Boston middle school youth by providing a variety of free programs during the school year and summer that develop the skills that lead to success in education, employment, and life and by supporting the journey to post-secondary education. Our five goals include: strengthening 21st century skills, fostering social and emotional growth, cultivating a growth mindset, developing fitness and wellness, and promoting service to others.Position Summary:The Development Manager is dynamic, creative, organized, and interested in helping a mission-driven nonprofit thrive and grow. This position will be critical in establishing partnerships and securing grants from institutional donors: researching new institutional funding prospects, drafting and editing letters of intent, drafting compelling proposals, drafting donor reports, and ensuring timely submissions to foundation, corporate, and public grant institutions.

In addition, the Development Manager is responsible for developing and assisting in the growth of our fundraising systems and external communications.

They will be part of ensuring revenue goals are met for various fundraising areas. The Development Manager is a full-time position that reports directly to the Executive Director.

This position may supervise interns as it relates to the work.General Objectives for this role:Responsibilities:Grant Writing & Research (60% time)Research grant prospects and present viable options to the Leadership team for review, following up as necessary with initial contacts and letters of intentPartner with the team to draft compelling proposals, backed up by accurate budgets and strategic use of program dataDraft an average of 2-3 grant proposals per month —approximately 30 proposals annually to private, family, or

corporate foundations, with a much smaller number to government sourcesSupport the development team to track grant reporting requirements and deadlines, ensuring the

annual grants calendar is kept up to dateWork with the development team to maintain the system for tracking the cultivation and stewardship of

relationships with institutional and corporate donorsCommunicate with the development team about interactions with and specific requirementsOther Fundraising (30% time)Maintain the fundraising database by ensuring that all institutional donation and donor records are

accurate, up to date, organized, and easily accessible, running reports and engaging in data analysis as

necessarySupport sending out thank you letters to donorsParticipate as a key player of our team for our four annual fundraising eventsLearn 3Point’s annual fundraising goals, and ensure all fundraising activities strategically work towards

these goalsSupport communication in partnership with the ED: annual report, biannual newsletter, website needsOversee social media presenceOrganizational (10% time)Participate in department and team meetings, as neededObserve programming (in-person) to gain a greater understanding of 3Point’s missionQUALIFICATIONS:ExperiencePrior foundation grant writing experience is required, including a track record of securing grants and donations of $5,000+Experience with donor grant tracking databases, familiarity with development databasesProven track record of efficiency, resourcefulness, and reliabilityDemonstrated ability to successfully work and communicate effectively and respectfully with youth and

adults of all cultural and socioeconomic backgroundsSkillsExcellent business writing, editing, and verbal communication skillsHighly organized, productive, detail-oriented, and able to prioritizeAbility to work on multiple projects, adjust quickly to shifting priorities, meet deadlines, exercise good
