UVU's Center for Constitutional Studies (CCS) is seeking an experienced and creative Graphics Designer to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will focus on designing print materials and digital posters to support our marketing efforts. This role involves creating visually compelling brochures, booklets, event materials, and social-media content to help the Center fulfill its mission of preparing citizens with a broad understanding of constitutional government, ordered liberty, and the rule of law.

The Center for Constitutional Studies is a nonpartisan, academic institute that promotes understanding of the U.S. federal and state constitutions through scholarship, initiatives, and a full schedule of conferences, symposia, and lectures featuring world- renowned scholars, prominent judges and attorneys, and state and federal officials. The Center also leads the Civic Thought & Leadership Initiative to facility nonpartisan political discussion and provide civic education and research. Much of this initiative focuses on training K-12 educators. Guest speakers include Pulitzer Prize-winning historian, David McCullough and Gordon Wood, former Utah Supreme Court justice Dallin H. Oaks, social-media and civics icon Sharon McMahon, Utah Governor Spencer Cox, and though leader Arthur Brooks.Summary of Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Director of Engagement to conceptualize, execute marketing campaigns, and ensure all designs adhere to UVU's brand guidelines and maintain a consistent visual identity.Design and produce high-quality print materials, including brochures, booklets, flyers, and banners that effectively communicate the Center's mission and event details.Develop social-media graphics and content that align with the Center's brand and mission, enhancing our online presence.Create eye-catching digital posters and graphics for online use, particularly for event promotions and educational content.Perform basic video editing for promotional videos and event highlights. Stay updated with design trends, tools, and best practices to continually improve the quality and impact of the Center's visual materials.Collaborate with vendors and the University's licensing team to design promotional and internal swag.Perform other job-related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications

Must be a current UVU student.Associate's degree in graphic design, visual arts, or related field preferred, or 2+ years of relevant experience; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

Knowledge: Solid understanding of design, typography, and artistic principles. Portfolio demonstrating expertise in print and digital design including materials from internships, freelance work, academic projects, or other experiences.Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro) and other relevant design software.Abilities: Careful attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience with motion graphics and video-editing software is highly desirable. Process feedback and suggestions and other design critiques. Passion for the Center's mission and the ability to translate complex ideas into visually compelling designs.
