JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking highly diligent, confident candidates with substantial management experience for the role of Head of Communications. The position comes with great responsibility, as this individual is accountable for public perception of the Company. Managing this perception involves developing marketing and communication strategies, understanding the importance of timing and setting, responding to crises and setbacks, overseeing a team of diverse communications roles and ensuring that information released is consistent with the strategy at large.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Develop a cohesive communications strategy.
  • Develop brand voice and maintain brand integrity across all platforms.
  • Assemble and oversee a diversely skilled communications, marketing and design professionals.
  • Assist in the creation of digital, video, audio and print content.
  • Track engagement across various platforms and make data-driven decisions.
  • Manage presence at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Manage media relations and develop contacts with media members, influencers, and community leaders.
  • Crisis management and preemptive planning.
  • Cultivate an environment of readiness and alertness.
  • Maintain an awareness of company risks and threats.
  • Project a positive company image to the public.
  • Manage media relations.
  • Manage a communications budget.
  • Ensure quality control of all information released.
  • Other duties as required


SKILLS:
  • MBA or advanced degree in communications, Marketing or related field.
  • 15+ years communications experience.
  • Extensive list of media contacts.
  • Awareness of and proficiency with communications technologies.
  • Experience in stakeholder/community engagement.
  • Clear and concise communication with team members and senior management.
  • Strong and confident leadership.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Ability to remain calm and collected in high pressure situations
  • An understanding of current social/digital platforms
  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
  • Ability to multi - task and prioritize duties
  • Possess good understanding of web, social, and talent & creator landscape
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Google Suite and Slack.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
  • A commitment to excellence and a deep belief in diversity and collaboration
  • Possess positive attitude, sound judgement, and top-level professionalism
  • Previous work for a talent agency, Social Media company or similar talent management experience preferred
  • Entertainment/Startup experience is a plus


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to talk or hear in order to give and receive information and instructions
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to use computer keyboard up to 80% of the day
  • Visual acuity, ability to adjust focus and peripheral vision for work on a laptop or other computer equipment
  • Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
