Partners for Children South L.A.Job Description: Grants and Communications ManagerProject SummaryPartners for Children South L.A. (PCSLA) is a non-profit organization focused on improving access to high-quality healthcare, early education and family supports for the youngest and most vulnerable children in South Los Angeles. Through the implementation of an Early Childhood System of Care, over 40 partner agencies provide services and cross-agency care coordination to birth to 5 children and their families in Service Planning Area 6. Also, PCSLA offers 6 special projects, focused on providing enhanced family support.Position ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Executive Director, the PCSLA Grants and Communications Manager is responsible for planning and implementing PCSLA’s grants and communications programs, including (but not limited to):Grant Management:Identify and develop strategies to optimize the grants administration process.Perform relevant research to identify available grant opportunities and evaluate the results.Lead all fundraising efforts, including grant research and writing, maintaining a grants calendar, compiling reports, and preparing organizational documents for funder submission.Identify potential grant support from government agencies, foundations, and corporations to meet the financial and operational needs of the organization.Ensure that grants are implemented according to the operational and financial needs of the organization.Prepare financial/budget plans and allocations along with the finance department in accordance with each requirement.Provide detailed reports to the funders and the board of directors with respect to the organization's progress.Monitor paperwork and other related documents connected with grant-funded programs.Maintain records of all payments and receivables and prepare monthly records for all grant- related activities.Maintain a donor database and execute prompt acknowledgement of donations.Support in the creation of the impact report/annual report, as needed.Other responsibilities, as assigned.Communications and Public Relations:Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy to increase visibility and support for the organization's mission and programs.Create engaging content for various communication channels, including newsletters, press releases, websites, and impact reports/annual reports.Work with communications firm to manage the organization's website, ensuring content is up-to-date, accurate, and visually appealing.Coordinate with project managers and coordinators to gather success stories, testimonials, and other impactful content to showcase the organization's achievements.Cultivate relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to generate positive media coverage.QualificationsBachelor's degree in communications, public relations, nonprofit management, or a related field (Preferred).At least 4 years prior experience.Excellent project management skills.Possess excellent organizational skills.Strong command of written and verbal communication.Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.Knowledge of the nonprofit sector, fundraising principles, and grant-making processes.Proven experience in grant writing, grant management, and securing funding from diverse sources.Possess good knowledge of planning and strategizing financial and budgeting issues.Familiarity with data tracking and reporting systems.A multi-tasker with strong ability to work under pressure.Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and produce quality results on time with attention to detail.Proficiency in using communication tools and platforms, including social media, content management systems, and email marketing software.Passion for the mission and values of Partners of Children South LA.Reports ToExecutive DirectorApplication Process:
