ONE WORLD OBSERVATORY

Positioned at the top of One World Trade Center, the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, on levels 100, 101, and 102 – One World Observatory (‘OWO’) provides guests with unique, panoramic views of New York City, its most iconic sites, and surrounding waters from 1,250 feet. A customized guest experience complements the seemingly endless views - which evoke feelings of the City’s signature pride, hope and determination - including special interactive experiences and dining options, plus a sit-down restaurant.

THE ROLE

This role will be responsible for overseeing the sales, marketing, and sponsorship function for OWO and supporting brands including ONE Mix, One Dine, Aspire, and Well& by Durst at One World Trade Center including the following key functions:

Sales

Develops and executes sales strategies and campaigns that maximize revenue in the areas of Group and FIT Sales with new and existing partners.

Additionally, the Director will lead the formation and maintenance of promotional partnerships.

This individual will be responsible for hiring, training, supervising and motivating the sales staff to achieve quarterly and annual revenue goals and for establishing and maintaining important relationships within the corporate community, with major special event and group clients/planners and throughout the tour & travel industry including NYC & Co., the Downtown Alliance, etc. The ideal candidate is resourceful and innovative, a creative dealmaker with an entrepreneurial spirit and partnership-oriented mindset.

Sponsorship

Responsible for managing inventory, developing solutions, delivering presentations, and participating in new business pitches. Leads the organization responsible for account management, delivery of benefits and fulfillment contractual obligations. This role leads and is responsible for the renewal of existing agreements.

Will be responsible for executing holistic sponsorship and corporate partnership sales efforts.

Marketing

Leads the strategy and daily marketing function. The Director will combine creativity with business savvy to build Venue brand equity, create awareness and drive individual ticket sales, food & beverage, merchandise, photo and other revenue. The successful candidate will have a strong background in results-oriented marketing, preferably including tourism and/or entertainment, attractions marketing.

This individual will be responsible for hiring, training, supervising and motivating the OWO marketing staff and for representing the Venue with key Legends’ agency partners (advertising media, public relations).

The role will lead the team to schedule, develop and deploy seasonal and periodic campaigns to meet Legends’ goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Develop and deliver strategic, integrated marketing plans that support and develop the Venue brand, create consumer awareness and interest, and deliver annual projected visitor attendance and revenue

Compile annual marketing plans and analyze effectiveness of plans on a weekly, periodic and quarterly basis, focusing on analytical insight to drive adjustments to the plan and future marketing activities

Monitor competitive programs and analyze consumer and tourism (international and domestic) marketplace trends on an on-going basis; identify key insights and adjust and enhance marketing plans accordingly

Negotiate, manage and oversee all agency partners to support and deliver aggressive marketing campaigns resulting in continued growth

Update pricing models, refine ticketing price points and packages, and adjust revenue projections as required

Work closely with ticketing system personnel and Venue box office staff to track sales and execute ticketing programs

Build effective partnerships and relationships with key external stakeholders

Monitor the competitive marketplace, including local and national tourism and entertainment properties

Achieving established sales goals and budgets as set by the General Manager

Contribute to overall efforts, thoughts and actions used to boost overall revenue for the organization

Develop and maintain proper sales and prospect reporting procedures and databases

Responsible for developing outreach strategies and necessary plans for annual budget for OWO, establishing department workflow to deliver the plan throughout all market segments

Develop programs that drive creative and motivating productivity drivers; create an atmosphere that stimulates learning; development and challenge

Responsible for creating and maintaining an upbeat, positive and productive work environment

Must be a team player who understands the big picture and not only creates value for the Company but also genuinely embraces and lives Legends Global Attractions’ unique culture

Proactively solicits new business by making sales calls and presentations, attending domestic and international trade shows and conferences, and engaging in other client prospecting

Maintain and collaborate open communication and effective collaborative relationships within Legends Corporate affiliates, OWO venue team, and building ownership

QUALIFICATIONS

Five to seven years’ experience in the hospitality, tourism or attractions industry

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in marketing, sales, sponsorship, communications, business or related field

Ability to proactively prioritize, manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously within time constraints and with strong attention to detail

Strong analytical and financial skills a must; understanding of data analysis, research process, ticket sales patterns, and demographic trends

Must be creative and resourceful with excellent negotiation, analytical, thinking, planning, and communication skills

Experience managing a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders. Master collaborator. Team player who excels in mediating among multiple divisions and external partners and vendors

Entrepreneurial, with the ability to balance strong creativity and innovation with practical solutions

Experience thriving in a fast-paced environment. Must have the ability to adapt to change on a daily basis

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications

Ability to work flexible hours, as well as nights, weekends, holidays as required

Possession of problem-solving capabilities to address and resolve issues. When necessary, must be an effective negotiator, comfortable in both complex negotiations as well as sophisticated business situations

Possession of well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to connect to a wide variety of audiences, demonstrating strong communication skills

COMPENSATION

Salary Range: $140,000-$150,000

Competitive salary (commensurate with experience) including bonus and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401(k) plan
