Job Summary Position is responsible for the prospecting, development and timely submission of all grant or funding requests to government entities, corporations, and private foundations to support existing or planned program activities. The position is also responsible for the development, writing and submission of grants for third-party entities. Position is responsible for monitoring, collecting, analyzing and reporting data on the performance of program activities implemented as a result of grant or funding requests submitted by Memorial Hermann Community Benefit Corporation. In addition, the position is responsible for training and following up with coordinators and their assigned reporters at each of the Memorial Hermann hospitals to input community benefit data online through CBISA and producing reports to be used in IRS reporting and community needs assessments.

Minimum Qualifications Education:

Bachelor's degree in Business, scientific or healthcare discipline; Master's degree preferred Licenses/Certifications:

(None) Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Five (5) years in a grants and contracts management setting, proven track record in grant writing and program development, experience facilitating complex, multifaceted grant projects with multiple collaborators and networking with industry, community organizations and government agencies. Must be highly organized with the ability to implement systems and follow-up processes, to effectively work under pressure to produce a quality grant product often with tight time constraints and to work independently and collaboratively to achieve stated goals. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong research, organization and analytical skills. Strong computer literacy and skills to internet research and Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel. Principal Accountabilities Researches, identifies and makes recommendations for grant opportunities by conducting detailed searches through federal, state and local government and industry-sponsored funding publications and websites; understands technical aspects of research parameters. Generates proposals and supporting documentation ensuring appropriate approvals, collaborators and regulatory guidance. Coordinates a team of collaborators, facilitating meetings, making assignments and ensuring that all participants contribute to the final grant product. Tracks the grant award notification process and implementation. Monitors funding and prepares reporting for all grant agreements. Provides continuous support to CBISA coordinators and reporters and runs quarterly reports. Tracks and analyzes Memorial Hermann contributions to ensure that they qualify as community benefit and not marketing/advertising. Informs senior leaders and collaborative partners through personal contact, presentations and reports. Responds promptly and courteously to internal requests and external calls/solicitations. Maintains a positive relationship with various system departments to accomplish goals. Assists with special projects as assigned. Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service. Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
