General Definition:The Desktop Media Services Specialist position oversees desktop support staff and manages security cameras, door locks, print management software, and phone systems. The role will also be responsible for maintaining asset inventory and repairing computer hardware, security systems, software, third-party software, and other related peripherals while providing best-in-class service to employees and constituents.

Description of Duties:

Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs.?Oversee the functionality of the WIU helpdesk, ticketing software, and employees. Provide level II support as needed.Manage audio/visual components in conference rooms and or meeting rooms as requested.Work with outside consultants and vendors to resolve issues.Prepare purchase recommendations for hardware and needed supplies.Administer the VoIP phone system, manage phone extensions, groups, phones, mailboxes, and all other areas of a Unified Communications system.Analyze reported problems and take appropriate action.Maintain accurate, complete, and detailed account information completing standard operating procedures.Monitor, repair, upgrade, configure, and install systems, peripherals, cabling, and other components.Evaluate, test, and recommend new equipment for use by employees.Implement and maintain established security requirements and other policies for hardware/software according to standard operating procedures.Monitor, install, upgrade, and configure applications, drivers and other similar components.Maintain and manage print management software.Manage users within third-party applications like Adobe Sign, Zoom, DUO, Beyond Identity, and others.Work with WIU employees to analyze software packages to meet the needs of future learners.Report priority one problems and customer dissatisfaction concerns to the Director of Technology and Innovation Services.Assist the Network Systems Administrator in troubleshooting wireless network connectivity issues.Accurately develop, process, and maintain records, forms, and reports.Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or designee.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
