Senior-Staff

Piping Designer

to help us achieve our company mission. The Plant Design team is responsible for preparing studies, sketches, drawings and models of equipment arrangements and piping layouts as well as performing a variety of computer-based modeling, design, and planning tasks on projects.

Please read the information in this job post thoroughly to understand exactly what is expected of potential candidates.Responsibilities include:Developing equipment arrangements utilizing vendor data and design criteria.Prepares complete design packages, including construction scope of work, for complex projects that meet design intents and customer expectations.Uses vendor documents, coordination prints, surveys, and models to check dimensions, determine interface points, determine physical space requirements, and provide information to other departments.Creates lists of deliverables and tasks, and estimates effort hours for same, based on limited scopes of work for complex projects. Identifies staffing and skill levels required.The Senior-Staff Piping Designer gathers field information and develops field sketches.Develops piping/mechanical design scopes, effort hour estimates, resources loaded scheduled, and vendor print reviews.The Senior-Staff Piping Designer ensures designs are constructible.Prepares models, drawings, and design sketches using related documents.One of the following combinations of education and experienceTwo-year technical degree with specialized training in computer aided mechanical or architectural drafting and design; AND 20 years of related work experienceOR, Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree or higher from a four-year non-ABET accredited engineering program; AND 18 years of related work experienceAbility to travel domestically or internationally to offices, vendor shops, and project sites.
