The Role:

The Founding Product Designer will be a key driver in informing all products across the company. You are a builder and problem solver at heart who loves working in fast-paced, innovative environments. You have experience working in consumer technology companies and have also worked on products that deal with complex data and systems. You love startups and can operate autonomously knowing that collaboration is the key to your success. You are equal parts designer, product-thinker, problem-solver, and collaborator. You consider yourself to be a “full stack” product designer with skills across user experience, visual design, interaction design, and research. You have designed products from the ground up by deeply understanding user needs and collaborating cross-functionally with engineers, product leads, and subject matter experts. You like to roll your sleeves up and believe in prototyping and testing concepts through quick iterations informed by data and research. Above all, your design approach focuses on removing friction for users and solving their underlying problems, which you are obsessive about understanding.

The products you will help build will create better experiences for our patients, patient advocacy partners, researchers, and internal users. Your work will span across intuitive consumer products and AI-driven data products.

This is a hybrid role based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our office is in San Mateo, CA

Responsibilities:

Lead end-to-end design and approach to launching user-facing products. You will not only shape the aesthetic and functional aspect of our product but also contribute significantly to our overall user experience and product strategyWork directly with users and business stakeholders to understand key needs and solicit feedback, and anticipate forward-thinking approaches to solution complex problemsDevelop prototypes, wireframes, storyboards, and design documentation to rapidly test and validate concepts in an iterative mannerCollaborate closely with product and engineering teams to deliver intuitive user experiences that align with our customers' needs and our company goalsEvangelize and advocate to incorporate the latest technologies, including AI-based approaches, to deliver unique experiences across productsDrive continuous innovation in our design processes that align with our overall mission of simplifying the health data space for patients

Qualifications:

7+ years of experience designing and delivering delightful consumer experiences as a product designer with ample experience in a startup environment5+ years of interaction design experience with a track record of defining and evangelizing how an experience should behave based on people's needs - using prototyping tools to demonstrate how a particular interaction will work3+ years of strategic product thinking with experience in identifying opportunities, setting goals, and driving product initiatives with a measurable impact on users and business metricsExpertise in design tools such as Figma (preferred), Sketch, and Adobe Creative SuiteYou have a strong understanding of how design translates into code and are adept at communicating with engineering teams, appreciating how your decisions impact engineering processesScrappy and self-starting, always having ideas for experiments that push the limits on how things have been done in the pastStrong autonomy and the ability to operate as a team of one with an eye towards scaling the function along with the businessPassion for making a positive impact by building the future of patient-centered healthcare. Experience working in healthcare is a plus
