We have developed industry-leading software tools for analysis and reporting of biological data. We accomplish this by designing tools used in labs all over the world to facilitate scientific discovery and progress, focused in genomics.This is an excellent opportunity for a person with a strong scientific background in human biology to apply this understanding to the area of computational biology.This role is for a full time permanent position within the QDI organization and specifically within the scientific/bioinformatics content team.This is a unique opportunity for a person with a strong management plus scientific and/or bioinformatics background to utilize this expertise in advancing multiple software platforms to address challenges in genomics, discovery, and pharmaceutical spaces. The successful candidate will manage the cross functional curation, scientific, and bioinformatics teams responsible for the scientific content and data that empowers Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA), QIAGEN Clinical Insights (QCI), and OmicSoft platforms.ResponsibilitiesManage a team of experienced and independent senior managers and leads.Work with Product Management and software product owners to understand content needs for new features and improvements and outline roadmaps for multiple products.Consult closely with senior leadership within the QIAGEN Digital Insights organization to evaluate and prioritize resources and align with the long-term vision of the organization.Position Requirements RequiredDeep understanding and direct experience—practical and managerial—in one or more of the following:End-to-end curation-to-product workflows for scientific software.Development of bioinformatics pipelines to satisfy needs of multiple users or customersDemonstrated competency in biology, especially in areas around human disease and geneticsDeep understanding of the biomedical domains and development of software/automated solutionsPrior experience in management, preferrably managing multiple teams and managersPreferred:Direct experience working in a Quality Management System (QMS) under ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and/or IVDRExperience with Agile software development practices and working in a scrum framework.Familiarity with software development tools such as JIRA and Confluence.Personal Requirements
