Epic is looking for Lead Tech Artists to join our team working on Fortnite. A successful candidate should have a broad knowledge of art creation for games. They should understand modeling, texturing and animation fundamentals. They should be able to combine geometry, materials, effects and UE4/UE5 Blueprints to create complex art. They should be able to work with other developers to ship cosmetics, gameplay and engine features.In this role, you will

Create complex materials for characters, weapons and environmentsEstablish workflows and tools for other artists to utilize when making unique assetsExecute on a range of visual effects styles from realistic to stylizedWork with programmers and artists to optimize content for many platformsOwn gameplay and engine features from the technical art side maintaining the high quality bar for FortniteWhat we're looking for

Desire to lead / work with a team and own features from inception to shipYou’re a go to resource for complex material logic, PBR material standards and organizationEnthusiastic about in game performance; making art efficient and forward thinkingMastery of UE4/UE5 and related art pipelinesVery strong technical and logic skills surrounding Blueprints / ScriptingAbilities in secondary areas such as modeling, skinning, animation, or lightingDesire to work with a team, supporting other content creators such as modelers, VFX artistsMust have a strong reel/portfolio showing executed game tech artYou’re user-focused, passionate, solutions-focused, and innovativeDesire and knowledge of how to push Unreal Engine furtherThis role is open to multiple locations in North America (including CA & WA).Pay Transparency Information The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience.
