The Sr User Experience Designer will define and drive the user experience for Premera’s digital products. Work closely with a cross-functional team as the champion of the end user, driving change with evidence-based design. Develop systems and process improvements and evangelize them throughout the design organization. Go beyond best practices to uncover novel, unexpected, workable solutions that increase user performance. Lead solutions for product areas and connect those to a broader product vision. Understand how products drive towards business goals and develop innovative ideas to meet those goals. Mentor and help develop junior designers. What you will do:

Perform the end-to-end design process from low-fidelity sketches and user flows, wireframes and prototypes, through to pixel-perfect comps.Demonstrate fluency in capabilities and conventions of the platform you're designing for Evangelize user experience best practice, design work, and design rationale with stakeholders and help inform product decision-making.Design digital experiences to support customer experience success metrics defined by stakeholders. Identify metrics to measure design success and work with analytics to track them.Partner with design research at all phases of the design process.Collaborate with other designers, design researchers, design management, product management, and software developers.Contribute to the maintenance and evolution of a library of design patterns for the Premera brand.Represent Premera UX at public events.Mentor junior designers through cross training, critique, and consultation.Work closely with development team to ensure that the finished product aligns closely with original designs and maintains a high standard of quality.Other duties as assigned.

What you will bring:

A Bachelor’s degree in Human Centered Design or equivalent experience (Required).Eight (8) or more years’ experience in user experience design (Required).Experience designing user experience for a highly regulated industry.Experience working with Lean, Agile, and/or Extreme Programming engineering teams.Experience as a mentor to junior designers and design interns.Portfolio samples showing exceptional skill in typography, visual design, and/or interaction design.

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience. National Salary Range: $82,700.00 - $140,700.00 National Plus Salary Range: $93,500.00 - $159,000.00

National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska
