This position is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive sales and marketing strategies, overseeing lead generation, and managing sales and sales operations targeting solar, battery storage, EV charging and other distributed energy resource (DER) installers, as well as electrical equipment distributors. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the distributed energy market, a proven track record of achieving sales targets, and exceptional leadership and management skills.**This is a hybrid position which requires minimum 1 day/week in our Philadelphia, PA office**Core Functions/DutiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.Strategic Planning & Execution:Develop and execute comprehensive sales and marketing strategies and plans to drive revenue growth and market penetration in the residential DER industry.Forecast revenue and establish performance metrics to monitor and report on progress.Establish sales and marketing budgets, build high-perform teams, and deliver on plans.Sales Leadership:Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales team.Drive sales initiatives to generate leads and close deals with solar, battery storage, EV charging, and other DER installers, as well as electrical equipment distributors.Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and external and internal stakeholders.Marketing Leadership:Oversee the creation and execution of innovative marketing campaigns to promote our brand, products, and to target customers, partners, stakeholders, and industry influencers.Ensure the development of compelling marketing materials, digital content, presentations, and sales collateral.Effectively communicate the value proposition of the company’s products and solutions.Utilize market research and customer and partner feedback to refine and enhance marketing strategies.Business Development:Identify and pursue new business opportunities and channels to expand our market reach.Collaborate closely with C-suite and cross-functional teams (product management, engineering, market opening, finance, supply chain) to align sales and marketing initiatives with overall business objectives.Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to build brand awareness and generate leads.Team Development:Define, recruit, onboard, and train new resources to support company growth objectives.Ensure the sales and marketing teams are aligned with organizational objectives and equipped to effectively engage with stakeholders.Ensure the sales and marketing teams are consistently trained on up-to-date policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize performance and drive success.Oversee the performance management process for team members, including setting clear performance expectations, conducting regular performance evaluations, and providing constructive feedback.Identify areas for improvement and provide coaching and development opportunities to enhance individual and team performanceOperations and Performance Management:Implement and manage sales and marketing processes, tools, and systems to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.Monitor and analyze sales and marketing performance metrics to drive continuous performance improvement and performance reporting to the company.Leverage data-driven insights and best practices to optimize processes, aiming to maximize speed-to-close and close-to-revenue.Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.Summary of 30-60-90 Day PlanThe 30-60-90 day plan for the Vice President of Sales and Marketing is designed to facilitate a smooth transition into the role, align the team with the company’s strategic objectives, and lay the groundwork for sustained revenue growth and market expansion.
