SUMMARY OF POSITION

We are seeking an experienced senior level Designer/Detailer to join our growing team in York, PA. The Designer/Detailer is responsible for generating detailed shop drawings for structural steel, miscellaneous metals and plate weldments as needed for our heavy industrial market sector. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience and must be willing and capable of overseeing and checking the work of others.

A successful candidate should possess an Engineering or Construction Management degree or background with applicable field experience, strong computer skills, good communication skills and a willingness to learn. TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Read and interpret complex construction documents and drawingsAssist Field Foreman and Project Managers with field data collectionReceive project drawings and develop detailed shop drawings for approvalDevelop and respond to RFI's as needed during detailing phasesInteract with project management staff and shop foreman to develop details to optimize both shop and field productivityCompile review comments and issue for fabrication drawingsCoordinate and manage detailing, submittals and project documentationCoordinate 3rd party detailers as neededMust be self-motivated and able to work independentlyExcellent communication and time management skillsExtreme attention to detail and experience with tight deadlinesEXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

Technical Education certificate or degree in CAD or related field10 years of experience as a structural and misc. metals detailerVast knowledge of AISC Standards and Industrial codes and symbolsMust be familiar with 3D environments and detailing softwareProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is requiredKnowledge of industrial processes and material handling equipment is preferred
