Job Summary

The Marketing Coordinator supports the attainment of sales goals, customer/donor acquisition and retention (CRM) efforts through digital marketing, content creation, audience development, website management, and all aspects of publicizing and promoting the performing arts events presented by Purdue Convocations. Responsible for the development, execution, and analysis of daily digital, and CRM strategies, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads, Twitter, Google Ads, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, as well as traditional marketing methods. Oversee pre-professional digital marketing & partnership development interns and serve as staff advisor for the Convocations Volunteer Network student organization. This position will update and maintain websites for Purdue Convocations, Convocations Volunteer Network and Purdue Student Concert Committee. Responsible for serving as co-representative for departmental technology services with the University's centralized support team.

Purdue Convocations

is the professional performing arts presenter at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. The organization presents 20-35 professional productions each season (September through May) in multiple campus and community venues ranging from 400 to 6,000 seats. For more than 120 years, Convocations has presented top-ranking national and international artists including symphony orchestras, opera, chamber ensembles, and recitalists; Broadway musical and theatrical productions; ballet, modern and ethnic dance; family and educational programming; jazz, folk, ethnic, country, and rock music; and special attractions. The department serves 50,000 patrons annually in a 14-county region in mid-north Indiana, as well as a university community that hosts film and lecture series, cultural events, sports, and many other activities associated with a vibrant university town anchored by a major research institution. West Lafayette is an easy one-hour drive from Indianapolis and approximately two hours from Chicago.

Education and Experience:Required:

Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, advertising, or other closely related field or other area combined with pertinent, demonstrated experience (e.g., project management)Two (2) years working in communications, advertising, or public relationsExperience in budget management, media planning and purchasingPreferred:

Experience in media relations including arranging interviews and press conferences, writing press releases, and all aspects of publicizing and promoting performing arts eventsExperience in management; marketing/sales; financial/fiscal management; and data mining/data analyticsExperience in front line customer service, especially in box office/ticketing for performing arts/public eventsExperience in higher education/student life and/or involvement in the artsSkills:Required:

Demonstrated passion for performing arts and cultureDemonstrated experience in social media/content creation management tools, as well as multiple primary social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Threads, LinkedIn etc.)Demonstrated skills in online advertising (Google Ads, Meta, etc.)Demonstrated experience in Adobe Creative Suite, email management, CRM, and digital marketing management solutionsDemonstrated experience in productivity and team workflow management solutions, such as AsanaProficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (specifically Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams), Google Workspace, and mobile/remote collaboration toolsDemonstrated skills as a technologist across multiple platforms and modes of usage: office, mobile, and remote and possess a learning orientation to changing technologyDemonstrated organizational and time management skills with emphasis on accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlinesDemonstrated skill in communication, with a strong emphasis on writing and editingDemonstrated interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, teach, consult and build work relationships among a diverse group at all levels; ability to work alone and with teamsDemonstrated public-facing skills in diplomacy, tact, and message managementPositive customer relations skills, excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to motivate and generate enthusiasm among volunteersDemonstrated initiative and self-motivationValid US or Canadian driver's licenseAbility to work evenings and weekends, as neededPreferred:
