Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Associate Technical Designer will support the Women’s Accessories Design team during all stages of the design process across the following categories: Women’s bags, small leather goods, belts, and soft accessories

Primary responsibilities/accountabilities of the job:

Clearly communicate technical construction details and design intent through technical specs, photos, and correction pages.

Build and update lifesize technical specs for bags, slgs, belts and soft accessories in Illustrator

Review samples for corrections based on technical accuracy, workmanship and aesthetics

Build specs for hardware and review technical drawings from vendors

Help maintain standards for detail execution and construction as defined by design

Support with PLM input of styles, materials, colors, trims and hardware

Maintain the handbag, slg, belt and soft accessories linesheets at each stage of the design process in Miro

Support design team with uploading photos and cads to Prana

Create Illustrator cads to represent season color offerings for each category

Complete photoshop renderings to communicate changes in construction, artwork, logo placement, etc.

Maintain daily communication with our PD partners in New York and Asia to resolve technical issues and make sure corrections are clearly communicated.

Keep sample closets and presentation spaces organized

Assist designers with various tasks as needed

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:

1-3 years of work experience in design, technical design or product development with a focus on handbags or leather goods

Education:

Bachelor degree or equivalent in design (preferably fashion design or industrial design) preferred

Skills:

Strong understanding of handbag construction

Experience with slgs and belts a plus

Understanding of hardware construction

Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

Experience in PLM a plus

Experience in Miro a plus

Ability to CAD in a fast-paced environment

Detail oriented with strong organizational skills

Ability to multitask and be flexible to support on multiple projects at once

Excellent time management skills

Resourcefulness in problem solving

Great written and verbal communication

Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a team

Collaborative attitude

Pay Range:$68,000 - $80,000

PVH currently provides base salary ranges for all positions-on job advertisements-in the United States based on local requirements. These ranges are based on what PVH reasonably believes that it will pay an associate for their base salary for said position at the time of the posting. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors including but-not limited to qualifications, geographic location and other relevant skills.
