The

Studio Director

directly supports the teaching needs of the Georgetown University School Continuing Studies by providing critical day-to-day management of all activity in the LG Digital Broadcast Studio at the School of Continuing Studies. The position will provide equipment installation/ maintenance/ repairs/classroom readiness at the physical location of 640 Massachusetts Ave, NW until the anticipated move to a new facility for the Capitol Campus. The incumbent will liaison closely with the University's IT and SCS Operations staff to facilitate equipment readiness/functionality, reading, and understanding, adhering to all relevant Georgetown University policies and procedures/requirements relevant to this position. Working directly with the Executive Director of Operations, University IT, and Operations staff on all aspects of equipment management, duties include but are not limited to:Provide occasional classroom AV support and regular event support until SCS moves to a new facility, exclusively focusing on studio duties/responsibilities in the aftermath.

Install and configure operating systems and application software, diagnosing and correcting hardware and software problems as needed.

Oversee the management/maintenance of all studio equipment, troubleshooting and diagnosing issues/facilitating repairs.

Manage LG Digital Broadcast Studio equipment (lights, cameras, mixing console, video switcher, utilities, computers) during pre and postproduction.

Train, support, and provide guidance on selecting appropriate media tools to enhance learning goals and meet pedagogical goals.

Facilitate a positive end user experience, promoting a variety of AV and Studio services to internal/external partners and creating any relevant training materials, as needed.

Requirements and QualificationsAt least four years working experience with and knowledge of studio equipment and troubleshooting ability

Hands-on experience in system installation, configuration, maintenance and repairs

Knowledge of audio/video, VTC and broadcast equipment, installation and maintenance including, but not limited to teleprompters, monitors, cameras, codex, video bridge, and connectivity to support video transmission

Ability to resolve related hardware problems in a timely manner with knowledge about systems software to determine if a malfunction of the equipment is in the hardware or in the software

Strong problem-solving skills, customer service skills, and a willingness to take initiative and lead the problem solving process

Detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks and train end users on operation of technical equipment

Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with other people in a team oriented environment

College degree preferred

Knowledge of digital classroom and broadcast classroom technology preferred

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:$54,616.00 - $100,493.33

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
