POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Graphic Design will lead the approach and execution to all graphic design for Sounders FC and Reign FC. They will work cross-functionally across the clubs - notably with Brand Marketing, external agencies, and Club leadership - to apply brand and strategy to design projects of all scopes & sizes, which will drive clubs' business and revenue goals. Central to the role is team management, leadership, brand management, project management, and day-to-day design and direction. This position will own how Sounders FC and Reign FC show up within their brand identities across all channels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership & Management:

Lead, manage and grow internal team of graphic designers to execute clubs' vision across entire enterprise.Project & Process Management:

Ownership of all design projects, within marketing and cross-functionally. Work with external agencies, VP of Marketing, and Brand team to ensure all are executed consistently at a high level, on time, and in-line strategically & creatively with Brand Guidelines and campaign approach.Resource Management:

Foster strong external relationships, acting as a conduit and manager with external partners to deliver against key needs, including clubs' design & brand agency, and photographers; To include vendor selection and management.Marketing & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Act as graphic design gatekeeper and leader within design team, Marketing department, and across both clubs to drive brand integrity and high-quality design against all club objectives. Utilize design expertise and brand fluency to be the voice of day-to-day design leadershipBudget Ownership:

Develop and manage annual design budgets and subscriptions, closely monitoring expenses and revenue streams to achieve financial goals.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Coach and develop 4 Graphic Designers to achieve department objectives while fostering a culture that prioritizes teamwork and collaboration, employee well-being and continuous learning and development.

QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated experience leading a high-performing team in production and/or design & brandMust possess strong design skills, with a proven ability to create visually compelling and innovative designs across various digital and print platforms.Passion for sports & events and eagerness to learn MLS and NWSLCommitted to principles of diversity, equity and inclusion, and to living organizational values and the to the organizational mission: Create Moments, Enrich Lives, and Unify Through Soccer, in all interactions with colleagues, partners, vendors, and fans.Highly organized with strong attention to detailAbility to manage multiple people, projects, competing priorities and timelinesA collaborative and innovative thinker who isn't afraid of new ideas or approachesExceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong capacity for collaboration and active listening.Working Knowledge of Photoshop, Adobe Cloud, Figma, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a hybrid position working from home and from Headquarters & Training Facility in Renton WA and matches at Lumen Field and Starfire as needed.Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.Must reside within Washington state upon date of hire.Must be able to facilitate own local travel.Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

COMPENSATION, BENEFITS AND PERKS

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000 - $119,500 and eligible for bonus opportunity. Base pay at time of offer will take into account job-related knowledge, skills and experience required for the role, internal equity and market.
