The Tsui Group is seeking a qualified and experienced

Wayfinding Design Manager

to join our aviation team in Los Angeles County. In this role you will be responsible for the design delivery of all Wayfinding designs performed by various designers under different contracts. The characteristics of the candidate must include wayfinding design experience within large campus environments (aviation, transportation, higher education campuses, etc.Key Responsibilities:Establishing and monitoring procedures for architectural & engineering review activities to ensure they are done according to best practices and standards identified in the ContractOverseeing design support management, scope of work management, design review and approval, permitting, agency coordination support, and building information modelling (BIM) coordinationSupporting the Wayfinding project managers in providing oversight of the architectural, structural, mechanical electrical plumbing (MEP), civil, utilities, and IT disciplines per airport standardsOverseeing the various design activities of the Wayfinding Enhancement Program, which includes stakeholder communications and presentations to senior leadership of the airport and airlinesOverseeing the review and approval of technical documents (DRT process)Lending expertise to manage comment resolutionFacilitating meetings and be the technical liaison between the Developers/Design-Builders and Subject Matter Expert teamsWorking with the Wayfinding Sr. Project Manager in defining, reviewing and/or approving design requirements, responsibilities and program consistencyProviding guidance to the Wayfinding Sr. Project Manager

should design requirements contained in the project documents not be clearly definedProviding technical review of changes to scope of work for each projectEstablishing submittal approval procedures and ensure uniformity of review approachAuditing project team comments and designer responsesMonitoring compliance with architectural and engineering guidelines for the T5 Modernization project ensuring consistency and quality in designMonitoring permitting information and the permitting process required by the design teamSupporting the Wayfinding project managers

to ensure design reviews are completed on time and within budgetDeveloping and maintaining the Wayfinding Enhancement Program scope tracker to verify that all scope elements are accounted for and have been or will be assigned to a projectProviding guidance related to the functional requirements contained in the technical specifications or other project documents supplied by the airportMonitoring BIM productions of all designers and contractors according to airport BIM Standards, the BIM Execution Plan, and needs of the Wayfinding Enhancement Program. The Wayfinding Design Manager is responsible for working with airport's Central Building Information Management (cBIM) to develop the strategy for BIM implementation and reviewActing as technical liaison for the design review processes and comment resolution in coordination with the project manager and the Design Review Team (DRT)Providing technical support and coordination between the Wayfinding Enhancement Program team and other project teams for program consistency across all disciplinesProviding technical Support for adjacent projects as required to ensure accurate interfaceProviding technical coordination for project consistency across all disciplinesPreparing and reviewing briefings, meeting agendas, and supporting materials for various meetings including Board presentations, Steering Committee meeting, Stakeholder outreach, and other meetingsMay assume other duties as required/neededRequirementsMinimum Required Qualifications:20 years or more experience in managing the design of large, complex building projects, utilities and infrastructure improvements, preferably on airport projectsDesign management of complex aviation improvements experience requiredExperience managing a team of design professionalsExperience with projects more than $50 million in valueExperience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR and Design/BuildProven ability to perform in a management capacityExcellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulationsMust have a self-starter attitude with proactive, results-oriented focus; and willing and capable to assume additional responsibilitiesMust be able to interface with a variety of people with different technical levels and educational backgroundsMust be detail oriented and highly organizedEducation and Training Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, and/or related field requiredProfessionally licensed Architect and/or Engineer strongly preferredHardware/Software Knowledge:Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and BluebeamAbility to work in CAD or REVIT a plusBenefitsSalary Range: $197,000-$202,000Medical, Vision, & Dental – 100% covered for the employee*Life and Disability Insurance10.5 days of Vacation pay (Accrued)6 days of Sick pay (Available Immediately)10 days of Holiday pay (9 Holidays, 1 Personal Day)3% Employer Contribution 401k (After 1 year of service)Monthly Stipend for Cell PhoneLaptop for work purposes
