You will work with a highly engaged team of marketing professionals in design, web, social media, and general business marketing management. We hold all our volunteers and interns to high standards. By end of the internship, you will acquire a basic understanding of marketing concepts and principles.

Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta (GSGATL) is providing internships to marketing/graphic design college students who have a passion for creating magic in the marketing world. The selected interns will collaborate with our marketing team in every project stage. To succeed, you need to be a creative individual who can turn concepts into artistic, marketable images for different mediums using different technologies.

The Faceted Roles

The work you do will vary and may be heavier in some areas than others. The following are the types of marketing roles youll perform:

Graphic Design & Illustrations:

You will report to an assigned mentor who will supervise and guide you throughout your experience at GSGATL. You will create high-quality graphics and illustrations to increase Girl Scout brand visibility that will attract our target audiences.

Content Marketing:

Youwill assist in the execution of content marketing campaigns with a strong focus on writing. You should be comfortable taking direction from other team members and should also expect to take the initiative to learn about current and emerging digital trends, assist with copy optimization for content marketing and develop email newsletter copy.

Digital Marketing:

In this collaborative role, you will get a chance to learn the social media landscape, trends, and data-driven analysis while gaining professional experience by working on social media and email campaigns with our digital marketing team. Learn how to create and execute a successful marketing strategy, including campaign development, user acquisition, digital advertising, content marketing, retention strategy, search engine optimization, and more. You will produce high-quality, trendy content for social media platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, website, and other platforms. Gain real-world experience using popular tools and technologies such as Google Ads, Google Analytics, Facebook Ads Manager, and WordPress.

Web Development:

Dabble and learn how to maintain, design, and develop a business website. Youll learn different methods to monitor, assess, and report on online content performance to ensure website functionality while handling a range of online marketing projects from search engine optimization (SEO) to social media practices. In tandem with visual communications and social media, you will learn all aspects of marketing, using Adobe Creative Suite, content management systems, Adobe Experience Manager, WordPress, and W3C Web standards, using HTML, XHTML, JavaScript, CSS design, cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility to maintain a website.

Marketing Scope:

To be successful in these roles, you should be a highly artistic person with a passion for creative technologies. You should be able to draw and work on digital software in a variety of styles and mediums. In essence, you are a creative individual who can turn concepts into artistic, marketable images. You will work closely with the marketing team and other stakeholders to identify opportunities, and resolve roadblocks/issues.

What will you be responsible for?Work collaboratively to brainstorm content and concepts with the marketing team and stakeholders.Preparing and designing rough draft illustrations according to client specifications.Identifying and defining constraints and timelines in relation to your activities.Creating illustrations and animated art using Adobe Creative Suite and other mediums.Refine designs based on brand guidelines and stakeholder(s) input.Enhancing design concepts using a wide range of colors and graphics, based on brand guidelines.Ensuring that printed illustrations meet specified color and quality brand standards.Delivering project updates at department meetings.Supporting the program development progress that aligns with Girl Scouts of Greater Atlantas mission.Work closely with Web Content Manager to learn the ins and outs of website marketing to Increase visibility.Qualifications

Enrolled and/or completed a degree in graphic design, illustration, visual arts, web design, or marketing.Able to provide samples of illustrations, graphic design projects, and other multimedia-related works of art.Intermediate-level knowledge using desktop publishing tools, including Adobe Creative Suite, etc. Microsoft Office Suite.Entry to intermediate level HTML and CSS coding skills preferredVersed in website formatting best practices and content flow
