Overview:
The Senior Associate Designer will work closely with Designers to support and develop seasonal apparel lines and select and seek approval for all raw materials and colors.
Key Accountabilities:
Product development of seasonal brand right lines at all stages, including (but not limited to) market research, trend presentations, and sourcing all raw materialsCreate CAD sketches of styles in developmentEnsure the accuracy of technical packs, which include detailed sketches, fabric and garment construction, pattern scale (where applicable) and trim pages and placementMeet all deadlines in adherence to the seasonal design calendarCreate and design lines according to predetermined style plans, sales needs and emerging trendsPartner in fitting meetings to ensure all product intent reflected in CADS or tech packs is received by cross functional teams as necessaryEnsure the accuracy of seasonal presentation(s) setupEnsure that link files, assortment boards, inspiration boards and design archives library are accurate and updated regularlyCommunicate regularly with Design Operations and Sourcing to update and share information on line developmentReceive and review samples with Designers and send sample comments to the sample roomResearch, select and seek approval for fabrics, trims, silhouettes, color palettes, and patternsSet up seasonal concept presentation deckSpecial projects as assignedRequirements
Required Skills/Abilities/Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design with a strong knowledge of garment construction1-3 plus years of experience in the fashion industry as an Assistant or Associate Designer (children's wear experience a plus)Proficient in Adobe Creative SuiteExcellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills with attention to detailBrand appropriate aestheticAbility to sketch brand right designs
