The Lead Environment Artist will establish and maintain environment pipelines, manage a team of environment artists, and ensure the highest quality of environmental assets in the game.As a Lead Environment Artist, you will guide the creation of inspiring locations that help bring one of our major properties to life. You will oversee the world-building process end-to-end, driving visual development, shape language, destruction design, lighting and effects, and area transitions. Together we will turn concepts and prototypes into awe-inspiring experiences for our players.Reports:

This position will report to the Art Director of Skybound Game Studios.Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Lead and mentor a team of environment artists, fostering a collaborative and creative environment.Collaborate with the Art Director, Prop Artists, animation team, and external vendors to create amazing environments, rich with opportunities for narrative, gameplay, and cinematic action.Work across disciplines to ensure your environments conform to performance standards and functionality requirements.Drive new methods and advanced techniques to produce the best-looking environments possible that showcase the player and destruction.Create clear workbooks and style guides for outsource; review deliverables, providing concise feedback if needed, and implementing the final product.Ensure that assets are optimized for target platforms while retaining artistic integrity.Provide estimates, manage time, and hit deadlines to stay on track with set schedules and tasks.Requirements5+ years of experience in console or PC games as a Senior Environment Artist, with at least one shipped title.2+ years of experience in a lead or supervisory role.Artist portfolio demonstrating proficiency in creating high-quality assets using Maya, Zbrush, Photoshop, and Substance Painter.Experience creating physically based materials.Strong technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and work efficiently within a game pipeline.Exceptional communication and leadership skills.Ability to maintain high-quality assets with consistency without continuous supervision.Preferred QualificationsExperience building environments in Unreal Engine.Familiarity with asset tracking tools like Perforce and JIRA.Experience with real-time, physically based lighting.Experience creating destructible assets.Experience reviewing and providing feedback to internal teams and outsource vendors.Passion for video game development, combat-oriented games, and Skybound IP.Job Type:
