Senior UX Designer, AWS Developer Experience

Description

Are you passionate about empowering developers to build innovative solutions on the cloud? The AWS Developer Experience team is seeking a driven, talented, and experienced US Designer to transform the way technical builders learn, experiment, and interact with AWS through their careers.

You will be responsible for bringing new developer-focused experiences to life, and shaping how AWS builds effective relationships with new to cloud and experienced AWS developers. In this role you will partner with product management, engineering, research, and the Developer Experience team to innovate and build an experience for the AWS developer community.

You'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact by developing and launching a community program that inspires and empowers technical builders.

Key job responsibilities

Understand customers and their needs through market analysis, customer research, and feedback.

Use business and high level requirements to design the architecture, interface, and interaction flow of new features and experiences.

Develop personas, customer journey maps, conceptual diagrams, wireframes, and prototypes.

Facilitate the design process, present and iterate design solutions.

Continually iterate and evolve the way we design for and learn from our customers.

Basic Qualifications

8+ years of design experience

Have an available online portfolio

Experience with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and prototyping in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ajax

Experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity

Knowledge of best practices for information architecture and design

Preferred Qualifications

Experience applying scrum to visual or UX design processes

Experience with UX design of complex workflows

Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standards

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
