The Museum of Modern Art is currently accepting applications for a Graphic Designer. The role serves as part of MoMA’s internal design studio, supporting the Museum’s brand and identity, exhibitions, marketing campaigns, and all other communications across the Museum.

Responsibilities:

Designs ambitiously, with a clear understanding and proficiency of design fundamentals: typography, composition, color, hierarchy and balance.Creates compelling ideas and strategic design solutions for brand and communications across all touchpoints, while clearly articulating thinking and design decisions.Provides creative support to the design team in all stages of the design process for a variety of projects, including exhibitions, identity and marketing.Supports the design team on all stages of exhibition identity design from conceptualizing, designing to production and installation, including label creation for all exhibitions.Creates presentations, decks, and other review materials as needed.Works cross-functionally and collaborates with key partners in internal and external teams.Incorporates feedback and direction from stakeholders, and collaborates with colleagues on the design team and across the Museum to support projects as well as for professional growth.Takes responsibility to meet deadlines and be punctual, and brings forward any project-related issues needing immediate attention.Performs any other duties reasonably related to the functions described above.Requirements:

Bachelor’s of fine arts in graphic design and two to four years in print and digital design and production experience, or equivalent.High quality portfolio of work demonstrating concept driven designs with well-crafted executions.Strong understanding of brand systems with the experience and ability to provide design solutions with a high level of craft and attention to detail.Excellent design ability with thorough knowledge of print, digital, exhibition design, advertising (print, digital, and social), motion and animation.Ability to storyboard and think systematically about motion design across a range of deliverables.Critical thinker who is able to question and challenge briefs and solve design problems creatively and collaboratively.Curious and passionate about design and art, with a keen awareness of the evolving landscape of available tools, technologies, resources, and trends.Ability to prioritize to meet deadlines and be flexible to challenges.Takes initiative and is self-motivated.Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to multitask.Excellent writing and communication skills.Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and G Suite. Knowledge of After Effects and ability to animate motion graphics. Figma experience is a plus but not required.

Reports to:

Associate Director of Design, and other senior titles as assigned.

Salary range:

The salary for this position is $65,219 per annum.
