Effects Artist - Games Responsibilities:

Work w/ designers, engineers, and artists, to create high-fidelity, impactful effects to enhance gameplay and empower overall game experience.

Utilize full range of visual and game design skills to design effects and features.

Collaborate w/ art, design and engineering to iterate and polish Visual effects (VFX).

Implement VFX using Blueprint and Sequencer UE4 tools to take broad, conceptual ideas and turn into something useful and valuable for billion+ users.

Develop and maintain visual language across multiple effects.

Create, optimize, and manage VFX assets to optimize VFX based on gameplay and technical constraints.

Work in visual scripting environments such as Unreal Engine’s Cascade, Blueprints, and Material Editor to design flows and simple and elegant gameplay experiences.

Apply design principles to create visual effect workflows, proof of concepts, and frameworks.

Determine visual impact and arrangement of VFX sequences and select style and type of design to enhance gameplay and cinematics.

Give and solicit feedback from other artists in order to continually raise bar for quality.

Conduct research into current game design trends and user-experience concepts in order to develop design modifications and revisions that better enhance user experiences.

Telecommute from anywhere in the US permitted.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a Master’s degree in Computer Graphics, Visual Effects, Animation, Fine Arts, or related field and two years of work experience in job offered or in a computer-related occupation.

Experience must include 24 months of experience in the following:

Artistic visual effects

Composition/framing, timing, and color theory

Maya and Photoshop

Developing and maintaining visual language across multiple effects

Visual scripting environments: Unreal Engine’s Cascade, Blueprints, or Material Editor.

Public Compensation:

$144,354/year to $170,500/year + bonus + equity + benefits
