Summary

We have an immediate opening for a skilled designer to join our Solutions team. In this position you will draw structural, mechanical, and engineering details for equipment, piping systems, and structures using a variety of CAD software to create precise and detailed designs. You'll also make design changes to meet specifications, investigate performance improvements, and ensure all deliverables are accurate while being mindful of budget and time constraints.

Some of the work you will do:

Create detailed structural, mechanical, and engineering drawings using AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, and Creo (PRO-E), and is familiar with the software Administration Process.Develop geometric, utility, and structural details, and compute necessary dimensions.Calculate and verify mathematical data and update drawings and computations.Reference engineering handbooks, industry practices, and customer specifications for additional data.Interpret contract drawings and specifications to produce accurate designs.Visit sites to gather additional data and measurements.Maintain project documentation, including drawings, changes, and daily reports.Adjust designs to meet specifications and investigate performance improvements.Collaborate within the design team and determine materials necessary to meet planning criteria, coordinate the work, and changes as necessary. (e.g. fabrication shops, construction teams, equipment vendors, mechanical/electrical contractors)Familiar with programs and documents aligned to Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC)Verify the accuracy of work performed by other designers and ensure assignments are completed on time and within budget.Aware of budget and schedule constraints on all work. Make every effort to complete assignment on time in coordination with the project management team.Here are the skills that you need:

Associate's Degree in Product Design and Development, Design Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.5+ years of mechanical or structural design experience and a solid understanding of drafting techniques and engineering terminology.Experience using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Inventor, Autodesk Advanced Steel, SolidWorks, Creo (PRO-E), Bluebeam, or other CAD software.Knowledge of structural, mechanical, and engineering drawing symbols and nomenclature.Familiarity with engineering plans, design concepts, techniques, manuals, and drafting practices.Understanding of scale determination, conversion, and checking survey notes.Proficient in trigonometry, geometry, general mathematics, and design calculations related to design work.Ability to prepare accurate, neat, and legible layouts and drawings. Also able to follow detailed technical instructions and maintain records and drawings.Skilled in making scale drawings from field notes, design sketches, and verbal instructions.Competent in reading and interpreting plans and preparing detailed working drawings.Here are the skills and qualifications that will set you apart:

Bachelor’s Degree in Product Design and Development, Design Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent.Experience using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Inventor, Autodesk Advanced Steel, SolidWorks &/or Creo (PRO-E), Bluebeam5-10 years of Mechanical or Structural design work experiencePhysical Requirements:

Must be able to work at desk computer/phone system.Some lifting may be involved, (50-70 lbs.), specifically when in the warehouse area(s).May be required to be clean-shaved for proper respiratory equipment.Benefits and perks we offer:
