Description

Are you interested in helping Amazon redefine the meaning of "convenience" in delivery? We are seeking a Senior UX Designer to help us build products and services that enable millions of customers worldwide to get their stuff when, how, and where they want it.

You create elegant and simple customer experiences by leveraging systems thinking. You believe in deep collaboration are known for driving cross-organizational alignment.

Your human-centered design process includes customer insights, data, UX methodologies, visual design, and accessibility. You will work with product managers, engineers, and executive leaders to develop innovative retail-customer experiences. Your design artifacts drive product decisions and roadmaps.

Key job responsibilities

• Work design solutions from early concept through final implementation and iteration.

• Define, develop, and socialize the vision for innovative new solutions, solving some of our toughest delivery challenges through design-driven approaches.

• Lead cross-org conceptual development; work across multiple organizations to identify overlaps and efficiencies in design and product thinking.

• Proactively plan ahead, look around corners, and effectively partner with design, product, and engineering counterparts to plan/prioritize work, resolve issues, and remove roadblocks.

• Use data and customer insights to confidently defend design solutions with senior leaders.

• Lead brainstorming and critique sessions that foster big thinking while raising the bar on the details.

• Use systems-level design thinking to drive design solutions.

• Advocate for your design solutions by leveraging diverse inputs that influenced the design decisions including customer and business goals, usage data, and research findings.

• Develop high level and/or detailed storyboards, mock-ups, and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.

A day in the life

The role involves close partnership with senior product managers, tech leaders, and partner teams drive customer-focused innovation impacting millions of customers around the world. You collaborate with designers and researchers to generate innovative ideas and simplify experiences across Amazon. You are responsible for relentlessly advocating for best-in-class CX. You use design expertise (user interface design, branding, interaction models, prototypes, etc.) to create data-informed design solutions. You generate and synthesize diverse types of data to improve products and features.

The DEX Design team is a multi-disciplinary group with skill sets spanning UX Design, UX Writing, Visual Design, Research, and Marketing. In order to deliver smiles we focus our innovation on:

Basic Qualifications

7+ years of UX designer or interaction designer experience

Have an available online portfolio

Experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity

Experience working with stakeholders to plan and execute programs that are strategic in nature

Knowledge of best practices for information architecture and design

Experience acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) and creating personas and journey maps

Preferred Qualifications

Experience designing customer facing retail products

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
