This role is within Chamberlain Group's Engineering function. The Director of Product Design Quality will be responsible for ensuring that our organization’s product designs meet the highest quality standards. The role involves overseeing quality processes, implementing best practices, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The Director of Product Design Quality will both lead a team of quality analysts and work closely with the test lab, software quality, video quality, and other groups to ensure that end to end product test coverage and certification is world class.

Job Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance Strategy:

Develop and implement a comprehensive quality assurance program specific to product design.Define quality standards, guidelines, and best practices for the design team.Ensure adherence to quality processes throughout the product development lifecycle.Team Leadership and Management:

Lead a team of quality assurance professionals, including analysts and testers.Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback to team members.Foster a culture of quality excellence within the design organization.Design Validation and Testing:

Establish robust testing methodologies for design elements, prototypes, and final products.Conduct thorough design reviews to identify defects, inconsistencies, and usability issues.Collaborate with designers, engineers, and stakeholders to address quality gaps.Quality Documentation and Reporting:

Create and maintain quality assurance documentation, including test plans, test cases, and defect reports.Generate regular quality reports for management, highlighting trends and areas for improvement.Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.Continuous Improvement:

Monitor design quality metrics and KPIs.Identify opportunities for process enhancements and efficiency gains.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to elevate overall design quality.Risk Management:

Assess design-related risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.Collaborate with product managers to prioritize quality-related issues.Implement preventive measures to minimize design defects.Responsible for complying with the security requirements set forth by the Information Security team and the established ISO 27001 Security Roles, Responsibilities, and Authorities Document found in the ISMS Document LibraryComply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.Protect Chamberlain Group’s reputation by keeping information confidential.Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related field.10+ years of experience in the QA, software development and test automation field3+ years of management experience in the software, QA, and test automation fieldAzure or AWS cloud infrastructure experienceExperience with full-stack products from hardware & firmware through the application and integration with partner products.Experience with test automation platformsAbility to travel up to 10%

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Solid background in Quality Assurance strategies and statisticsUnderstand & apply Block Diagrams, Interface Matrices, Parameter Diagrams, FMEA’s, DVP&R, 8Ds, CTQ & control plansSolid understanding of statistics and quality measurementsWorking knowledge of software development and proficiency in a language such as: C, C++, C#, Java, or PythonAbility to work in a matrix environmentKnowledgeable in Phase Gate product development and/or Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Preferred Job Requirements:

Master's in engineering or related field.ASQ, CQE, or CQA

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

APQP knowledge and experienceSix Sigma or Lean training
