Responsibilities

Extensive knowledge of the Piping and Plant layout discipline with capabilities and the initiative to perform the following task while supervising/mentoring junior staffProvide accurate detail piping design per project requirement in accordance with scope, budget, and schedule as assigned by project leadProvide on-site field assistance as required per project assignmentPlan, facilitate, or conduct 3D model design reviewsPerform difficult and complex design calculationsProvide 2D or 3D design documents as required per project "list of deliverables"Check design documents for quality and accuracyProvide information for inter-discipline coordination.Participate in project coordination meetingsMake recommendations to improve department work flow processDevelop and /or improve department standards, including templates and design guides.Supervise, coordinate, manage, design work for multiple projects of small to medium sizes in parallelProvide direction and day-to-day oversight of assigned subordinatesProvide man-hour engineering estimatesMentor understudies within piping departmentResponsible and accountable for the performance of assigned designers / draftersGenerate "Engineering Change Notice " before the start of all out of scope workDevelop piping construction scope of work documentOwnership of project, including quality, budget and scheduleReview of vendor drawingsAll other duties as assignedQualifications

Associates or Bachelor's Degree in engineering technology or equivalent experience8+ years of experience working in the design field with BSET degree or 12+ years of experience without degreeEligible to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the futureTechnical Competencies

8+ years of technical experience in piping designThe ability to proactively resolve technical design problemsStrong written and verbal communication skillsThe ability to communicate detailed information to both client and project teamAbility to articulate complex ideas to co-workers and managementExtensive knowledge of 2D and 3D AutoCAD software.Ability to use design and/or CAD software to perform design tasksCompetencies and Skill Sets:

Strong Microsoft Office experienceKnowledge of multi-discipline project design execution and construction sequenceStrong piping design knowledge of major equipment and structuresCreative thinking in providing new solutions to design problemsAbility to provide nozzle and platform orientations per project requirementsKnowledge of piping design requirements for in-line instrumentationUnderstand stress analysis and its applicationAbility to generate a construction scope of work documentPeople Skills
