The Licensed Interior Designer manages and provides design supervision for outside consultants in the interior design, furniture selection and project budgeting for university projects from space planning, specification, construction, purchasing and installation. This position reviews consultants' work for complying with university standards and goals for attractive, durable, efficient, and fiscally and environmentally responsible work, products, materials, etc. This position provides Space Planning, Interior Design, furniture/material selection and specification for university provided interior design projects. The Licensed Interior Designer develops FF&E project budgets and project timelines that coordinate with overall project construction budgets and project timelines. This position monitors bidding, purchasing and delivery scheduling services provided by university Materials Management department as those services relate to the FF&E and construction project budget and project timeline. In cooperation with appropriate stakeholders, this position develops standards for sturdiness, durability, and wear for the selection of long-lasting furniture, finishes and equipment. The Licensed Interior Designer provides professional consultation services on interior design aspects of campus projects. Management, supervision, and design are for both interior projects and exterior projects where selection of site furnishings, finish materials and other design elements are planned. This position reports to the Director of Interior Design.• Ability to identify design issues during design and construction phases of projects and provide solution to these issues.• Ability to utilize design software programs, including AutoCADD, Adobe Creative Suite, and other computer software programs and to learn new software programs relative to design, construction and project management.

Utilizes time effectively, creates and uses schedules and meets deadlines.• Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or Architecture.• Registered Interior Designer in the State of Louisiana or NCIDQ Certified.

• 5 years of experience in the design, specification of furnishings and materials and building construction of commercial, institutional, or public building interior renovations or new construction.

• Experience with project budgets, planning, scheduling, and monitoring projects in planning, design, and construction.

• Experience working in an academic environment.
