As a Principal Software Engineer on the Ads team, you will play a meaningful role in shaping the evolution of advertising products and systems at Roblox. The role encompasses designing advertising experiences that engage tens of millions of users daily. Your responsibilities will include crafting robust and scalable backend services, processing vast amounts of data, and running a real-time advertising decision server to develop and expand Roblox's advertising business. This role is a great fit for you if you are proficient in managing large scale systems and data-driven applications and have a zeal for developing inspiring, easily maintainable, and reusable code. This position will report to the Senior Engineering Manager or Director, and require you to work onsite at our HQ in San Mateo, CA Tuesdays to Thursdays.

You Will:

Build and ship best-in-class Ads products used by hundreds of millions of users.Develop backend services that scale to billions of products and transactions.Be a tech lead and mentor junior engineers.Self-organize and take ownership of projects throughout their full lifecycle.

You Have:

8 years of experience in software development.4+ years of experience building and shipping Ads products to production, and working on large distributed systems.Knowledge with REST, GRPC, distributed systems design, and scalable containerized systems and microservices.Passion about working on large-scale, consumer-facing mobile and web applications.Knowledge about advertising and the technology which powers it is preferred.
