Samsung TV Plus is Samsung’s direct-to-consumer OTT video service featuring ad-supported linear channels and ad-supported VOD. In the US, TV Plus launched in April 2018 and is currently available on 2016-24 model Samsung Smart TVs and recent Galaxy mobile devices.
As a Sr. Manager of Technical Product Management for TV Plus, you will develop requirements and roadmap priorities for the TV Plus Content Acquisition, Ingestion, Merchandizing and Operations platform ensuring capabilities support future worldwide growth. The role demands a mix of great technical depth, principled thinking and well-honed product judgment. TV Plus is in the midst of an exciting period of growth and development, and seeks an experienced Product Manager who will drive technical evolution of the product platform and automated workflows during this critical phase.
Role and ResponsibilitiesDefine, prioritize, and facilitate the rollout of scalable, modern content acquisition and ingestion platform and operational workflows that support large-scale linear and on demand streaming of premium video across devicesManage and prioritize the product backlog ensuring timeline for new capabilities aligns with business and service goalsContinually evaluate effectiveness of existing workflows, systems, and integration points versus latest technologies. Automate cross functional workflows to bring efficiency and reduce costs.Diagram existing and potential systems and provide supporting technical documentationProvide internal technical leadership collaborating with PM, Engineering, Operations, QA, BD and Programming teams across the glob to achieve service level excellenceLead technical relationships with vendors, content providers, and other 3rd party partnersSkills and QualificationsBachelor's Degree required. Degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred12+ years of experience in architecting automated workflows and backend software services that support a large-scale consumer OTT video streaming serviceExperience with Content Acquisition and Ingestion, Content Management System (CMS), Electronic Programming Guide (EPG), Server-Side Dynamic Ad Insertion (SSAI) and working knowledge of industry advertising protocols VAST, VMAP, OpenRTBExperience with streaming media including live video streaming protocols such as RTMP, HLS, MPEG-DASH, Zixi, and CMAFExperience with multi-DRM (Playready, Widevine, Fairplay) systems and large-scale deploymentsFamiliarity with APIs and video feeds in XML formats such as MRSS and JSONUnderstanding of AWS media services including MediaLive, MediaPackage, MediaStore, and MediaTailorExperience automating large scale workflows in cloud to bring efficiency and reduce cost.Experience collaborating with a globally distributed teamsThe salary range for this role is expected to be between $175,000 and $210,000.
