In Prime Video's Customer Relationship and Marketing Tech (CRMT) team, our mission is to build and scale a holistic customer relationship management program and deliver automated and personalized marketing messages to Prime Video customers worldwide. Our team builds, maintains, and obsesses over our customer communication programs delivered in Prime Video’s owned marketing channels and surfaces, including customer emails, app push notifications, WhatsApp, and Amazon.com promotions. We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to lead architecture and development for In-App Marketing experiences in the Prime Video Apps (Android, iOS, Web, Living Room). This role is one of full ownership for features (front-end and back-end) – from design to development & deployment. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to the future of key PV experiences on Live Sports, Movies and TV Shows. You will be part of a strong team in a fast-paced, start-up like environment where agile development is embraced and innovation & thinking big is encouraged.

The ideal candidate has proven experience in delivering marketing automation solutions, and/or building new customer experiences. A successful candidate is someone who is obsessed with the end user experience, motivated to deliver results fast, and has the ability to work independently under time constraints to meet deadlines. You will also have a consistent track record in taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment

Key job responsibilities

In this role you will:

Design, develop and deploy new features for PV apps (iOS, Android Web and Fire TV), working with multiple platform teams.

Write clean, maintainable code and perform peer code-reviews.

Work with other team members to investigate design approaches, prototype new technology, and evaluate technical feasibility.

Actively collaborate with Product Managers and UX -Designers to shape the user experience

Work in an agile / scrum environment to deliver high quality software against aggressive schedules.

Establish architectural principles, select design patterns, and mentor team members on their appropriate application.

Help define and implement standards and promote best practices for the mobile development team.

Analyze and optimize applications to maximize speed and scale, factoring in mobile network latency and bandwidth constraints

Basic Qualifications

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

4+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

4+ years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis) experience

3+ years of full stack development experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
