We’ll need you to hit the ground running, interacting daily with engineering and field teams to help guide developers creating apps and games for TVs, tablets, and other smart devices. If you are able to work independently, communicate clearly, partner with cross-functional teams, and steer a project through to publication that will be used by thousands of developers, come grow your career with us.We are a collaborative team of writers and engineers working to create best-in-class documentation used by developers all over the world. Our team crafts guidance for app creation and porting, APIs, SDKs, and code samples. You’ll run test apps, describe best practices for integrating SDKs, document how to submit an app on the Amazon Appstore, and more.This position can be based out of San Jose/San Francisco, Seattle, or Arlington/DC.Key job responsibilities

Drive the development of product documentation for APIs/SDKs/guidance with product and engineering teamsDefine and scope writing projects and help determine prioritiesWork as part of a team to produce conceptual, how-to, and reference documentation for app development toolsApply and contribute to design and editorial standards to produce high-quality contentBASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field3+ years as a technical writer in a relevant fieldExperience designing and authoring app developer documentationStrong written and verbal communication skillsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience creating API and SDK documentationAbility to write example code in one or more of the following: Java, JavaScript, Kotlin, Python, React NativeFamiliarity with Android developmentExperience with publishing systems based on Markdown or HTML and version control such as GitHub/GitExperience writing for localization to multiple languagesExperience using and following a style guide.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
