Apply for Job Job ID362208 LocationTwin Cities Job FamilyMarketing & Communications Full/Part TimePart-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Code8341GD Employee ClassCivil Service Add to Favorite Jobs Email this Job About the Job Marketing & Communications Associate- Theatre Arts & Dance 8341GD, M&C Pro-1-Graphic & Vis Des 75% Time Position This position works closely with and reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications and is responsible for executing department marketing, public relations, and communications initiatives for the production, academic, and recruitment needs of Theatre Arts & Dance, working closely with production teams and students. Marketing, Public Relations, and Communications (50%) * Designs and creates visual content using a combination of forms such as text, audio, images, photography, animations, video and interactive content to communicate themes and messages for communication materials. * Use graphic software, web-based graphics or other design tools to create accurate finished products. * Helps maintain brand identity, design standards, and policies for a unit, college or the University. * Responsible for the design and development of engaging user experiences for a variety of interactions. * Creation and strategy surrounding a wide variety of print materials (publications, newsletters, web guides, flyers, invitations, calendars, posters, etc.) for the purpose of increasing awareness of Theatre and Dance resources, academics, recruitment, programs, and events to internal and external audiences. * Assist in department website, both external and internal, working with the director of marketing and communications on updating navigation and content on a regular basis. Social Media(30%) * Use social media marketing tools to create and maintain UMTAD's brand. * Work with the Director of Marketing and Communications to develop social media campaigns. * Analyze UMTAD's digital marketing plan and social media strategy and identify strengths and weaknesses; make recommendations for improvements. * Research social media trends and inform management of changes that are relevant to UMTAD's marketing activities. * Set key performance indicators for social media campaigns, such as targets for a certain number of shares or likes and measure a campaign's performance. Recruitment and Community Relations (20%) * Assist in cultivating local, regional and statewide media and community relations. * Create new and nurture ongoing relationships with other campus departments and university campuses to result in higher visibility for UMTAD, cross-curricular events, and increased ticket distribution to the university community. * Design and create printing and digital material for recruitment events and needs. * Design and produce promotional items for recruitment events and activities. Qualifications Required Qualifications * BA/BS degree or 4 years combined equivalent education and experience. * Demonstrated and proven experience with Social Media such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, creating marketing campaigns. * Demonstrated computer skills such as MS Office suite, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, GoogleCal, GoogleDrive, website creation and updates, listservs * Must be able to work nights and weekends as event schedule dictates * Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds Preferred Qualifications * Experience with media and donor relations. * Professional photography experience * Strong portfolio of successful projects and/or publications from previous professional experiences. * Excellent written skills to include experience writing, positioning, and editing copy for both internal and external communications About the Department About the Department of Theatre Arts & Dance Housed in a public research university located in a vibrant metropolitan area, the Theatre Arts & Dance department is a collaborative hub for education, research and training in the diverse field of Dance and Theatre.
