The Senior Art Directors keep conceptual and visual design initiatives moving forward for some of our largest clients. They don't blink an eye when handed large-scale engagements for marketing campaigns - projects that are complex, wide-ranging and require a seriously innovative mind. A Senior Art Director should have an incredible drive to produce visual work that's on-target, within budget, of the appropriate end quality and, above all, effective for clients.

We want Senior Art Directors who know how to express their ideas clearly and confidently. They provide direction and leadership to designers working on their project teams, scope design phases of projects accurately and efficiently, and attend pitches and industry events as required. They know how to keep their designers focused and help them channel their talent toward the end goal while getting them to challenge themselves and the work they produce. Leadership is exciting to them, but they're also willing to follow others because they understand that great ideas come from anywhere. The Senior Art Director sweats the details and expects others to do the same.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Concept and Design

Be creative, conceptual, clever, courageous and consistentProficient with Adobe Creative SuiteDevelop brand campaign concepts (artistic vision, look and feel) that leverage strategic consumer insights and can span across digital, social, print, broadcast and other mediaApply conceptual strategy, design, copywriting/editing, brainstorm facilitation and day-to-day shepherding of projects to completionUnderstands branding and the importance of brand consistency in all communicationsAssemble style guides as needed to guide creative visions for projectsImplement design templates and master pages and create styles based on design specsFamiliar with client brand standards; designs accordinglyProvides art direction on photo/video shootsConcept and manage projects while working within a budgetPush the envelope without ever losing sight of strategy; Ensuring work is on-strategy, appropriate for the brand and approved by senior managementCare about big ideas as much as pretty fontsStays up to date with a passion and understanding for latest design trends and new technologiesConsistently solve the needs of our clients and their audiences through creative problem-solving and artistic visionCommunication/Management

Be responsible for illustrators, photographers and production artists on projectsBe a creative leader on brand, design and imageryEffectively interact with clients as needed in a way that positively impacts the agency relationship, including presentation of new initiatives, concepts and campaignsCollaborate with team members throughout the work process to foster, facilitate and consistently deliver great work that is on strategy, on time, and on budgetExcellent presentation skills and communication abilities at all levels of both internal and client groupsThe desire to mentor and inspire other Art Directors and Designers and to support the Creative DirectorAbility to successfully direct a multidisciplinary team to produce projectsCoordinates with Creative Director and Associate Creative Director to select vendors to bidProduction/Organization

Work under minimal supervision to lead creative developmentHandle multiple tasks easily, consistently meeting or exceeding deadlines and client/agency expectationsPrepares projects for final production, if neededAbility to effectively and efficiently plan and prioritize deliverables and resources working across projects, based on scope of work and project goalsMaintains an awareness of status and project deliverablesQUALIFICATIONS + REQUIREMENTS

7+ years agency experience in creative services requiredBachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication Design or related field requiredMust be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop -- requiredMust be proficient in Microsoft OfficePhoto + video direction experience preferredWriting and editing skills a plusWell-rounded portfolio of innovative, award-winning workHealthcare and/or agency knowledge and experience preferredExperience in mentoring art directors, designers and production artistHighly conceptual thinking in both visual and interactive designStrong desire to define the look and feel of what is next in visual and interactive design and an interest in the latest design trends, technology and social mediaExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to articulate and sell a creative idea with enthusiasm and knowledgeAbility to see others' point of view and cope with criticismDesire to produce award-winning creative for each and every assignmentTake pride in going the extra mile to make something killerProactive, self-motivated and collaborativeReliable, professional, assertive, extremely organized with keen attention to detail
