Job Summary:

Graphic Designers create visually appealing, integrated and effective communications and experiences for our advertisers and for our brand. Graphic designers will design, brainstorm, build and execute innovative campaigns and branded experiences across The Gazette’s marketing channels and platforms. In addition, graphic designers will be combining digital design expertise with The Gazette’s offering of multiple print publications and will be tasked with helping brands discover their story and leveraging the multimedia storytelling power of The Gazette to create compelling custom content that informs, entertains and engages.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Work closely with sales / advertising, other designers and marketing.Be highly skilled at creating digital and print advertisements, as well as email marketing campaigns to guide development of beautiful, original, and creative branded experiences from concept to implementation.Develop visual designs and page layouts that address business, brand and market.Ability to work well in a collaborative environment with other designers, writers, sales / advertising staff and producers.Have a strong visual and typographic awareness.Brainstorm and collaborate with sales / advertising and marketing teams to express cross-platform programs and experiences for clients.Work with operations and production to ensure successful delivery of the final product.Contribute innovative ideas to shape effective ad experiences across digital, mobile, print and video platforms.Be able to present your designs to clients, sales / advertising and marketing and articulate your vision.Other Duties:

Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or Marketing0-1 years of marketing / advertising / design experience – internship acceptableStrong portfolio showing previous visual and interaction design workPreferred Education Requirements:

3-4+ years of marketing / advertising / design experienceKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Fluent in the full Adobe Creative Suite and general design principles, as well as Microsoft Office.Experience developing visual designs for desktop, mobile and tablet.Motion graphics / interactive design is a huge plus.Ability to tackle infographics and illustrations.Staying well-informed of the evolving technology and design landscape including the emergence of new standards and devices.Self-starter – Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional groupsStrong eye for layout design and typography.Excellent organizational and communication skills including written and verbal interactions with clients and colleagues.Strong project / time management and multitasking abilities.Interests in advertising, marketing, media, messaging and branding.Eagerness to produce powerful campaigns and be part of a team.Positive and enthusiastic attitude.Strong strategic, conceptual skills and a good knowledge of digital advertising.Ability to prioritize and manage work, adhering to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment.
