FMP Consulting is currently seeking a Data Analytics and Visualization Specialist:
The work will include:Consulting with stakeholders using human centered design approaches to understand the need for data products and to identify a potential solutionDeveloping Power BI datasets and dataflows, including the use of Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) and Power Query Formula Language (M Query)Communicating research results to internal and external stakeholders using appropriate data visualization, written, and oral communicationTranslating customer requirements for data products into technical specificationsDeveloping data structures (datasets, dataflows) for use in Power BI reportingStructuring data and developing measures using M Query and DAX languagesConducting performance testing and tuning to ensure reports run optimallyDeveloping custom reports and interactive dashboards using Power BIProviding direct customer support, including training, in accessing, using, and interpreting Federal HR dataCreating training and knowledge sharing resources to educate customer agencies on the value and use of dataQualifications
Experience required:
5-7 years of experience engaged in business intelligence projects as a report developer/analyst with significant experience using Power BIExperience using data visualization principles, including pre-attentive attributes, Gestalt principles, and appropriate chart selection, to develop intuitive dashboards and reports that help people make better decisionsExperience using human-centered design approaches to understand user needs and behaviorExperience with SQLExperience working in an Agile environment - working as a part of a team to iteratively develop and deliver data productsAbility to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences (orally and in written form)Ability to effectively collaborate across organizational barriers to accomplish high priority and high visibility goalsUS citizen
