About our Team: Senior Conversational AI Designer to join a team of 50+ UX designers and UX researchers, with strong support from upper management to learn and grow in your career. This role is ideal for someone who has a strong interest in conversational AI technologies and is passionate about creating intuitive,user-friendly experiences for medical professionals. About the Role: With the increased development of Generative AI solutions, there is a need for a conversational designer. This individual will support AI projects and develop their capabilities in-house.

Responsibilities

Designing new conversational AI experiences or enhancing existing ones, focusing on improving the interaction patterns between users and conversational AI agents.

Optimizing conversational agent responses to meet user expectations for length and information presentation. Using behavioral science principles to design mechanisms that nudge user behavior toward better outcomes.

Prototyping conversational experiences and validate them with users to help communicate concepts before they are developed. Tracking performance of Conversational AI agents using qualitative and quantitative data. Turn insights into opportunities to improve the experience.

Working closely with Product Managers and Data Scientists to optimize large language models in an agile development environment. Driving the creation and take ownership of Elsevier’s Conversational AI design Framework, documenting standards, processes and methods

Being an advocate for the Conversational AI Design community of practice and communicating the value of Conversational AI Design to stakeholders. Guiding other UX practitioners who wish to learn the craft of Conversational AI Design

Requirements

Experience in designing for Generative AI Conversational experiences

Possess hands-on experience working with large language models and designing the interaction for them.

Experience with prompt engineering and prompt chaining. Possess the knowledge of the fundamentals of conversation, e.g., turn-taking, cognitive load, pragmatics

Ability to deal with ambiguity in a changing business environment. Knowledge of Agile, Design Thinking, and user-centered design processes. Exhibits a keen interest in AI safety and ethics.

Have the driven desire to revolutionize and positively impact how people interact with computers. Possess an understanding of cognitive factors influencing user behavior
