Major/Essential Functions:

As an Assistant Director – Marketing Cloud Technical Specialist, you will play a vital role on the digital communications team, using Salesforce and Marketing Cloud to assist in configuring and maintaining data to meet business needs. Your experience in automation processes, SQL queries, HTML, and AMPscript will be key in building solutions for targeting, personalization, and reporting. Additionally, you will analyze data to improve performance, troubleshoot system issues, manage email deliverability, and subscription management.

Assist in the configuration and maintenance of Marketing Cloud and CRM data according to defined priorities and strategies to meet business requirements and challenges.

Provide expertise in Marketing Cloud automation processes, SQL queries, HTML and AMPscript.

Aid in managing email deliverability, database hygiene, subscription management and compliance with university policy on opt-in/out & CAN-SPAM compliance.

Build solutions and processes for targeting, personalization, configuration, strategy and reporting.

Assist in analyzing data from analytics and assist in implementation improvements to performance and deliverability.

Report on and troubleshoot system outages, failed sends, automation errors and other anomalies.

Monitor send logs in Marketing Cloud for patterns, errors and analytic trends.

Develop testing and deployment strategies and processes.

Develop documentation and knowledge base of current processes.

Perform routine maintenance and upkeep for all business units in Marketing Cloud

Preferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of higher education and academia.

A demonstrated knowledge and understanding of SQL, AMPscript and HTML.

Knowledge of email marketing best practices (preferably for nonprofits).

Ability to quickly learn new systems and ability to manage multiple ad hoc and long-term projects simultaneously.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in the area of specialization or closely related field. Three years of related administrative and technical experience. Additional job related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
