Amazon's Demand-Side Platform (DSP) is the company's programmatic advertising product, supporting campaigns spanning Display, Video, and Audio across Amazon properties (e.g., Amazon.com, IMDb TV, Twitch, Fire TV, and Amazon Music) and tens of thousands of third-party websites and applications. The Amazon DSP Science Engineering organization is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Ad Sourcing infrastructure and real-time ML inference infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and scaling ad sourcing infrastructure to meet the standards required for the ADSP platform, enabling a variety of advertising tactics. The target system will be capable of handling millions of transactions per second with millisecond latency. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the long-term architectural vision for this critical system. The individual in this position will be responsible for software development from inception through delivery, working across a diverse set of technologies. Key job responsibilities

Design and develop high-throughput, low-latency systems, demonstrating strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.

Leverage problem-solving abilities to collaborate with cross-functional teams, think strategically, and simplify complex challenges.

Work closely with teams across Amazon to integrate and optimize existing advertising products, leveraging the company's scale and reach.

Apply technical expertise, excellent organizational and communication skills to tackle ambiguous, high-impact problems, demonstrating ingenuity and motivation to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other software development engineers on the team.

Ensure a high standard of quality by conducting design reviews, implementing robust engineering practices, and driving automated testing and code coverage.

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
