:The senior collection librarian will oversee various aspects of cataloging operations, including supervising cataloging; record and metadata creation to make collection materials discoverable.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforms a combination of duties involving program monitoring, performance management, technical assistance, and reporting on all aspects of the activities that revolve around cataloging and library-wide system initiatives around collection discoverability.Programmatic and administrative duties include:Design, implement, and deliver analysis, workflow, and prioritization plans for unprocessed materials.Providing just-in-time information about the program, responding to inquiries, and conducting coordinating activities.Scheduling meetings, consulting with leadership and staff, prioritizing the needs, drafting communication and data collection tools, taking the team's direction, and coordinating contractor resources in alignment with strategic objectives and project milestones.Create quality records and find aids for ingest into systems,Supervise contractor staff to pilot the streamlined workflows and processes, including time management, data collection, quality assurance and auditing, and reporting to NIH.Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.What You Will Need

:Bachelor's degree( Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education or advanced degree)Demonstrated experience with a minimum of TWO (2) years managing large cataloging and metadata projects within a library or information science environmentDemonstrated experience with cataloging and creating authority records according to national and international standards.Resource Description and Access (RDA),Descriptive Cataloging of Rare Materials (DCRM),MAchine-Readable Cataloging (MARC),BIBCO/CONSER Standard Record guidelines,LC/PCC Policy Statements,PCC Name Authority Cooperative (NACO) guidelines,Medical Subject Headings(MeSHEligibility and willingness to apply for and maintain an NIH badge.What Would Be Nice To Have

:Master's degree in library science, Information Science, or related fieldTwo years of experience with non-MARC metadata and metadata conversion from other formats is strongly preferred.Two years of experience using Alma or similar library services platforms to develop, manage and recommend efficient workflows.Proven related experience with the NIH or other federal agencies.The annual salary range for this position is $87,100.00-$130,700.00.
