The Marketing Director will be an integral part of Desert Publications Inc. The ideal candidate will be developing and implementing marketing and sales strategies for Palm Springs Life. The role requires someone who can balance a high-volume workload, excels at multitasking, has a sharp focus on details, and has an innate sense of urgency to clearly connect with internal and external partners. This individual must be highly organized, self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work effectively cross-departmentally to understand key players and communicate effectively among them.Responsibilities

Develop and present marketing and sales strategies to advance the company in the market industry.Create and manage captivating advertisement campaigns across media platforms to ensure our products and services are well known.Develop unique sales plans to ensure that the company’s products and services are appropriate for marketing.Ability to write sales proposals and media kits.Support the sales team in ensuring they are performing to the best of their ability with marketing support.Maintain professional relationships with clients and prospective clients.Manage the internal marketing platforms; this includes event websites, email marketing and more.Participate in sales meetings to stay updated with leads and special accounts.Develop and execute results-driven marketing campaigns utilizing both traditional and forward-thinking tactics that extend and enhance ability to reach new and existing audiences to reach specific company.Work with internal teams (sales, editorial, circulation/audience development, digital, and event) to develop and align campaign strategy and execution.Analyze the effectiveness of media and marketing data to better optimize spend and performance across various marketing channels.Work with external marketing partners/agencies to implement content marketing or cross promotional opportunities.Investigate and track industry trends and innovative media opportunities to optimize future campaigns.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or above in business, management, public relations, advertising, sales, or related fieldMinimum of 7 years of experience in sales or management will be essentialStrategic, innovative and creative personality with a strong business mindsetExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsExcellent time management and organizational skillsStrong motivational and leadership skillsSolid knowledge of website and marketing analytic tools including programmaticStrategic planning skillsAd buying and negotiationKnowledge of AP styleDesert Publications now in its 66th year, the independently owned company produces several consumer and custom publications — including the award-winning monthly magazine
