Job Description

About the role

The Active Technical Designer will oversee the technical design process from development through production for Women's Activewear. They will interpret Design concepts to achieve the desired point of view when creating technical packages. This role is responsible for product uniformity and consistency in the fit, quality, and construction of all Women's Activewear product.

This role is based in our Atlanta headquarters,

requires weekly in-office work 4 days/week , and reports to our Technical Design Manager, Active & Lounge.

You'll love it because you will...Create active apparel with performance and functionalityConduct and manage fit sessions to determine and execute proper fit including measuring and prepping samples for fitting, taking notes and digitals during fit sessionsParticipate and facilitate fit sessions on live models and take ownership of specific productDevelop expertise in understanding physical fit, evaluation of body size, shape, and the relationship of clothing on the target bodyEnsure size and fit consistency within the brand across product categoriesAbility to work on missy and plus sizes while ensuring design aesthetic is achieved through all sizesManage fit schedules, booking models, and communicate updates to cross-functional partnersGenerate technical packages for the factory including complete and articulate fit comments, sketches, digitals, specifications, bill of materials, and construction detailsPartner with the Design team on initial stage sample development and any specifications neededTrack and manage workflow and workload for products; gather information and update all reports necessary for meetingsIdentify potential production, quality, and costing issues and make recommendations to ensure brand integrityMeet seasonal and brand deadlinesOversee organization of all electronic and hard pattern filesTake initiative to get things done and drive the business forward while eliminating roadblocksStrive for continual improvement that drives product and process enhancementsFoster an open communication and team environment with all cross-functional partnersQualifications

We require...

5+ years of proven technical experience in women's activewearBachelor's degree in apparel and/or textile-related field of study is preferredProficiency in garment specifications; how to measure garments and flat sketchingWorking knowledge in pattern making (preferability Gerber)Understanding of fit/balance of garments, leading a fit session, grading, and garment constructionStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsAbility to handle multiple projects at one time while maintaining adherence to the calendarAbility to build collaborative cross-functional relationshipsProven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlinesInnovative thinkingKnowledge in fabric, trims, and construction for Active apparelPC Skills - Trained in PLM, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Outlook, Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Additional Information
