POSITION SUMMARY

KERA is looking for a visionary leader with a passion for visual storytelling and a heart for Texas. In this role, you will use immersive visuals, compelling messaging and creative storytelling to serve audiences in North Texas and beyond. You will also help set the creative vision for our family of brands, which includes KERA, KERA News, KXT, WRR and the Denton Record-Chronicle.

KERA is a multi-platform powerhouse shaping the media landscape in North Texas. In this dynamic role, you'll lead the helm of our video and graphics team, crafting captivating promos, visuals and stories that entice audiences and elevate our brands. Your impact will extend far beyond the promo reel. You'll be a catalyst for original storytelling, weaving visuals and narratives that celebrate the unique spirit of Texas and its people.

This position is classified as FLSA exempt, is not eligible for overtime and reports to SVP, Audience and Content or Sr. Director, Audience Development.

Lead the Creative Services team and foster a collaborative environment where videographers, editors, and graphics artists thrive. Inspire artistic excellence and push creative boundaries while ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.With the Director, Creative Production, develop a strategic vision for visual content across our stations and platforms, aligning it with the overall brand and mission of KERA.Champion innovative formats and storytelling techniques that captivate and entice audiences of all ages, focusing on audience segments outlined in the strategic plan.Unleash the stories of KERA and the stories of North Texas through original documentaries, interstitial shorts and special features that delve into the heart and soul of our region. Give voice to diverse perspectives, celebrate Texan traditions, and explore the challenges and triumphs that define the Lone Star State.Architect the KERA brand experience by elevating our brand identities to new heights. Collaborate with teams across KERA to ensure all visual elements - from station branding to marketing materials - resonate with our mission and brand standards and reflect the richness of North Texas.Lead with inspiration and expertise, fostering a culture of creativity and continuous learning. Motivate your team to challenge conventions and deliver work that stands out in the public media landscape.As a KERA employee:

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

A minimum of 5 years of experience in video production and/or creative leadership, ideally in a media setting.A proven track record of conceptualizing, producing, and directing impactful video content, including promos, documentaries, and short-form narratives.A keen understanding of brand storytelling and the ability to translate brand guidelines into visually compelling experiences.Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor a diverse team.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with a passion for sharing stories that educate, engage, and entertain.A deep appreciation for the cultural landscape of Texas and a desire to amplify its unique voices.

SALARY RANGE

$81,000-$91,000 annually, depending on experience.
